Please don't distort what I said.

The idea of the Constitution is to embody a set of rules just as the Republican party has promulgated a set of rules. We respect the Constitution but we must acknowledge that the effect of many of the rules is to avoid majoritarian rule. That is the whole purpose of the Bill of Rights. It does not matter if the majority of the people are deluded and think that Donald Trump would make a good president and would like to shut up people like me. It does not matter because I have a First Amendment right to speak out even against the wishes of the majority of Trump supporters. Democracy in the minds of the framers was often, but not in every respect, equated with mob rule.

If you believe in playing by the rules, as people who respect the Constitution do, if you understand that Trump accepted these rules governing primaries going into the contest, the whole episode does not reflect badly on Ted Cruz who played by the rules but very badly on Donald Trump who ignored them.

I get it now!
If Ted does something that is not against the rules but bends them to the max and it is perceived by americans and conservatives as acting unfairly and/or cheating... then TED IS GOOD. VERY GOOD!

... BUT if Donald doesn't do that same exact nasty thing, because he thinks it's outside the scope of HIS PECULIAR ethics, decency or morals and OURS TOO (for that matter)... then TRUMP IS STILL JUST A BAD GUY.

Dear NB, All of us Americans and Freepers are not that stupid.
Ted it is said, is following the rules but TED needs to follow the rules he claims to uphold and he does not meet the requirements for president.
By his own admission: "Two US citizen parents, and born on US soil".
What he is trying to obtain for himself, therefor is by his own knowledge NOT constitutional.
In fact, until just about 24 months ago and all of his adult life, plus childhood... he has been a Canadian citizen. His parents were not citizens and he was not born here.

His ability to pilfer, blur and manipulate without breaking the letter of the rules, while crucifying the intent and spirit thereof, while thwarting the will of the voters through subterfuge... cannot be disputed--nobody does it better... but it must never be deemed righteous, honorable or ethical.

Nathan Bedford was an great and honorable man... and I think he himself might very likely disagree with your position on these matters. Of course you are entitled to your own standards and opinions. I know that.

But when Ted is disqualified or drops out, please consider joining us in making this nation great again.
