“I don’t understand why you are so giddy that millions of voters potentially will have their votes negated & thrown to a candidate they did not vote for or support? I know you hate Trump, but doesn’t it bother you that the political system is rigged like this? Really, it goes against what this country was founded on. Whether it is your candidate or not, you should be bothered.”

Do you understand why there’s an Electoral College, and it’s not just the straight democratic vote that elects the President?

The parties function similarly. It’s so there’s a check on the people getting tricked into making a really poor selection. That’s the situation we’re in with Trump, in my opinion. His positions on illegals and Muslim immigrants/refugees have resonated. I wish other candidates would move closer to them. But those positions and his other broad brushed slogans (Make America Great Again) don’t make up for the fact that he’s not stated any realistic plan for making them happen. Further, he is often inarticulate, has a highly questionable moral compass, has a volatile temper, and his views on many important issues have changed like the wind over the years. In fact, he’s well known for rubbing elbows with the Clintons and other unsavory types. ;-)

I think the nation could do far better for a President. Thank goodness there’s a way for it to happen. Whatever the outcome, it must be God’s will, right?

The analogy of the Electoral College would be this: if, after the vote takes place in November, in a few weeks the the Electoral College meets, and electors from various states cast their vote for the candidate who did not WIN that state. That's the comparison, if you wish to make it.

Of course, this is covered by the constitution which, presumably, Cruz wouldn't try to subvert the ELECTORAL COLLEGE?

And the RNC---it's a club of Elites, our own Oligarchy, and they can fool the people with impunity. It's THEIR party. What they've done wrong is PRESENTED the primaries as REAL DEMOCRATIC VOTES, which, we're learning, they are not.

First of all, the electoral college is not involved here. Yes, I understand the Electoral College. However, to my knowledge, after a state votes, there isn’t a process of trying to swing/pay off the electoral college voters from the Republican candidate to the Democrat candidate or visa versa. They vote for the presidential candidate based on how the voters cast their votes. There is no after-the-fact stealing of delegates/electoral college people.

I’m not necessarily talking about Trump vs Cruz. My point is that regardless of what side a person is on, they should be very, very disturbed that voters’ ballots are just disregarded & are no better than sticking them in a shredder after casting them. The system is rigged. If the voters don’t have a say or can be so easily disenfranchised, then we are nothing more than a banana republic. If it can happen this time to Trump voters, then next time it will happen to the candidate who isn’t anointed by the establishment.

I always thought it was that way because the founding fathers knew that we'd pick the worst candidate.

Well thank God you guys are going to save us from Trump...

Maybe you should try again...

His positions on illegals and Muslim immigrants/refugees have resonated. I wish other candidates would move closer to them. Trump is far more articulate on his plans than the few Cruz has thrown out there...So that doesn't fly...

and his views on many important issues have changed like the wind over the years. In fact, he’s well known for rubbing elbows with the Clintons and other unsavory types.

That shows Trump is paying attention to the issues and not just going along to get along...

You ignore the fact that Cruz's new Bush family and associates not only sit at the same tables at the CFR meetings with the Democrats, they also adopted the Clintons as their children and siblings...

I'd say you are completely disingenuous...
