Rep. Marlin Stutzman is a member of the anti-leadership House Freedom Caucus, a conservative in the mold of Ted Cruz and a three-term Indiana congressman who voted against John Boehner as speaker.
Now, he wants a promotion to the Senate -- and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his allies want to stop that.
Privately, McConnell has made clear to his confidantes that he wants to bolster the candidacy of Stutzman's chief GOP rival, Rep. Todd Young, and push him over-the-top in the May 3 primary, according to sources familiar with the conversations.
Publicly, McConnell's super PAC has made Indiana the first state of the cycle to begin an aggressive TV ad campaign on Young's behalf. And one of the GOP leader's closest allies, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is also spending big bucks on the airwaves to promote Young....

Young “is”
Stutzman “isn’t”
Indiana is a hard state to gauge. I think Indiana may end up more Pro Trump than Pro Cruz.
Living here, I could not say how Indiana will really go.
I just had to look to see if Susan Brooks even has any Primary challengers this time around. 2 completely unknowns so we will probably be stuck with her for the next term since a Democrat here has only about a 30% chance of taking that seat.
When Big Blow was coming to our area, our anti-Wind group made several attempts to contact her and were completely blown off with form letters deferring us back to the local politicians who sold us out. After this year, all of those supporting Wind have been voted out.
I will be voting for Stutzman over Young and fully expect either one to schlong Baron Hill in Novemeber.
If Cruz is the nominee I fully expect Jeb will the VP pick.
Yep, chips will definitely be called in.
Young is being supported by the CofC who is totally in the tank for the LBGT agenda in Indiana. That is reason enough to vote for Stuztman.
Let me help you, see it’s pretty easy once your eyes are open to reality. The fact that the GOPe has placed Teddy in their pocket wasn’t going over too well, so know all the little reporters have their marching orders to do their best too distance Teddy from the GOPe which is funding him and propping him up - because you know, little people don’t like being fooled.
And now the cruzettes will claim Teddy isn’t in bed with them, that the GOPe crawled to him begging to let them help him. Because that is money well spent, anything to stop Trump and the will of millions of people who have voted for Trump.
But c’mon 2nd, keep posting more articles that show how the GOPe really really really hates Teddy, so people don’t get the wrong idea when Walker/Ryan/Reince et al stand behind Teddy cheering him over the finish line!
You can do it! Show ‘em who’s boss!

Stutzman is definitely who conservatives should prefer.
The good news is it’s a 2 way race this time, not like 2010 when loser John Hostettler split the conservative vote and handed the nomination to Coats.
Locally, most are supporting Todd Young, who’s a neighbor of sorts. I personally support Stutzman, but Young is acceptable enough.
