I don’t trust him.

LOL - boy you had to really stretch on some of those. I will say though that I believe Cruz did support amnesty in 2013 with the Gang of Eight. Yes, I know, he was just lying to make sure the bill didn’t pass. It did pass the Senate though didn’t it? It was the Congress who stopped it.

Oh, give Cruz time, he might end up being married 3 times also. Too soon to call that one isn’t it?

Cruz needs to win Iowa. Trump can afford to lose Iowa, but Cruz cannot. That's the big difference, and clearly one of the reasons Trump wants to score a knockout here.

If Cruz stumbles in Iowa it's not clear how he regains his footing. A Trump loss here would be a disappointment but as everyone expects him to win New Hampshire handily an Iowa loss will be chalked up to Iowa's tradition of being an outlier in the nomination race. A split between Cruz and Trump (Cruz winning Iowa, Trump New Hampshire) would make South Carolina more crucial for both. If Trump wins the first two contents Cruz will be at a serious disadvantage in SC as momentum would clearly be against him.

The same would be true for Trump if he somehow loses both Iowa and NH, but I don't see anyone predicting that.

That’s not what the people I know in Iowa say. YMMV.

Kasich (of all people) polls well in New Hampshire.

The ones I know, who live in Texas, HATE Bech and see him as an IDIOT. And yes, some, whom I was in contact with today, don’t understand why Ted went along with that mess in WATERLLOO yesterday.

Trump leads by substantial amounts in Iowa, N.H., S.C. and Nevada, so only GOD knows what you’re talking about.

He's already taken the oath.   We don't need no stinkin' primaries.

Yes, Beck did a number on Cruz.   It's sad.   The only thing this "oath of office" did is stroke Beck's ego.   In the picture you posted, Cruz's face seems to say, "Oh no, what the heck did I get myself into here?"

Did Beck give a detailed speech praising Cruz?   If so, was it good?

Cruz has his campaign organization on the ground there. Thats how to win. Holding rallies is nice but having your support team in daily interaction with the voters is gonna get turnout

There are thousands of Cruz volunteers living in a defunct junior college dormitory in Des Moines down the street from the airport.

Hi nopardons,

Remember when President Wendell Wilkie beat Roosevelt in 1940? Oh, that’s right - he won the polls, not the votes.

At this point not one vote has been cast. I’m not a believer in polls. As I think about Iowa, and not looking at the weather forecast, strange things can happen on the way to he caucus site. Trump is an arrogant loser as a person. He doesn’t address any of his ideology. He scares me and many like me.

From his two books, it’s always about the money and the deal. I’m reminded of the Apostle Paul writing that he became all things to all people so that some could be saved. Trump is a chameleon and has no firm political theory. What Jesse Venture did for Minnesota will occur to the USA if Trump is elected. I’ve often thought that Trump will turn America into Potterville as depicted in “A Wonderful Life.”

But, again, no vote has been cast yet. The race is a marathon, not a sprint. Every time I’ve run marathons I’ve been careful not to go out too fast - it is certain failure in the goal.

Well Cruz could still win Iowa. I think he would have had a better shot if he had avoided Glenn Beck but the person ahead in the Iowa polls does not always win. Trump is nervous about this which is why he is putting the big push on.

I’m a Trump supporter but I have no real idea of who is going to win Iowa. The rest of the table I would put money on Trump.

And what if Ted loses?

Win or lose, we move on to the next Democrat state that picks our candidate for us.

I don’t even know if he will be able to retain his Senate seat...what are the people of Texas wondering right now?

The people of Texas (if I may speak for my home state) are wondering why you don’t worry about getting rid of Orrin Hatch (from your home state) instead of trashing Ted Cruz, who is a good man and senator.
