NYE SHOCK: Voters and Media “annoyed” by Cruz’s constant email spam for cash
Prtnly ^ | January 1, 2016 | Voltova Dmitri

Posted on 01/01/2016 3:10:26 PM PST by conservative98

Ted Cruz raked in massive profits by getting $5,000,000 from club for growth, a pro-Amnesty organization with ties to "globalist" causes, but that isn't enough. Ted Cruz now needs money from the people, and is sending spam emails to his followers (and non followers) via email for cash, often with threatening titles:

" ***CNN BREAKING NEWS: Hillary campaign raises over $100 Million***

This is the most critical, most important email I have ever sent you.

As I write you, CNN is breaking the news that Hillary Clinton's campaign has just passed the $100 Million dollar fundraising mark.

Jeb Bush passed the $100 Million mark months ago.

DMITRI, I'm fighting for my political life, and your response to this email will determine the success of this campaign and ultimately the future direction of our country for years to come.

I'm asking one last time: will you make a year-end gift to help me compete with Hillary and Jeb's hundreds of millions?" Political Guru of FOX News Todd Starnes reports on facebook to major laughs: Todd Starnes 8 mins ·

I think Ted Cruz is a very nice fellow. But he's gotta stop spamming us with campaign email. I've received nearly a dozen emails today -- 12 emails in one day!

And the subject lines are "EMERGENCY!" "HELP!" "BREAKING!"

Senator Cruz, do you have one of those Nigerian spammers working on your campaign staff?

Please, stop sir!

You are an agent for Soros, Hillary or the GOPe.

Soros??? Seriously??

Knock it off!!

Reno was a CRuz supporter when CRuz first announced. If you truly checked the posters history, you’d know that.

You just have bum-hurt that your candidate has been using some very annoying donation begging tactics...and that it’s been ordered, by the boss himself, that there are to be NO solicitations for candidate donations, via FReepers, on FR.

To take your smear to this new low, is despicable. We could all throw the same Soros accusation at you. You owe Reno an apology.

You are obviously an anti-Cruz activist.

Why are you on a bunch of Cruz email lists?

That really smells.

This article is part of a “Concern Troll” campaign.

You’re the one who’s sounding the most ‘concerned’.

What’s up with that?

And I am not a lawyer, but I suspect despite your failure to disclose, if FR knows, which they obviously do now, puts Jim Robinson and FR at risk of entanglement with FEC and FTC. Anyone affiliated in any way with a candidate, campaign, party, or PAC, etc., really should disclose that!

And if you say no, despite the risk and dishonesty of not disclosing, think about the criticism of Obama in 2008 especially wherein people were paid to troll the internet, yet didn’t share that. Just because they did it, does that make it right to do so? What credibility do you or any of us have if we say one set of rules apply to them but not to us?
****************************************************************************
Oh no, Reno89519, now you are really frightening me as I am one of the “non-disclosing” Cruz small donors. What can I do now to make things with you and the other members of the anti-Cruz jihadists? Should I stop posting at FR? Should I send money to a candidate of YOUR (and your fellow members of the anti-Cruz posse) choice to compensate and disclose that.

Please Reno89519, help me save myself.

My hubby gets these same spam CRuz emails. Yesterday, he got so many we lost count.

Look at the screenshots folks are posting, on this thread, with their CRuz spam donation emails.

Are they ALL lying???

Careful now....several are longtime CRuz supporters.

UnwashedPeasant, As you've looked my my past comments, you should already know the answer to your question. But, for clarity, since you do ask now, beyond being a registered Republican in Nevada, I have no affiliation with any campaign or organization whatsoever. I am simply a private citizen sharing my personal opinions. As for my campaign donations, as regards to the 2016 election cycle, I donated hundreds of dollars to Cruz's campaign when he first announced and I recently bought a couple of Trump bumper stickers. That is the extent of my activities.

And you? How about you and everyone come clean on your affiliations so that we know who we're chatting with.

I gotta say I agree. I don’t know what I did to get on Senator Cruz’s list but relentless is the word I would use. Luckily I gave my yahoo account which is what I give out for potential spammers...but wow even then it seems like I get a LOT of fund raising requests from his camp and it is a bit annoying.

House Atreides, While I realize you are being a bit sarcastic, I'll bite. I seriously don't see you have any need to be concerned about your individual donations. As best as I know (and again, I am not a lawyer and I have not stated at a Holiday Inn Express recently), there is no FEC or FTC requirements regarding GIVING donations. But, if you are affiliated with a campaign, organization, etc., then you have an obligation to disclose that and clarify whether your statement or activity is approved or endorsed. This is really common sense. If you work for an candidate, just as in a commercial setting, if you work for company X, then go out and recommend its products or criticize others, you should disclose your affiliation, whether paid or unpaid.

And my only concern here, as with elsewhere that I read or comment, is when someone is trolling a group, posting in support of a candidate, organization, company, product, or service without disclosing their affiliation. I respect honesty and would like to trust someone is commenting for themselves, 'from the heart' if you will, than being the propagandist for a candidate, organization, etc. Isn't this important to you as well?

Maybe there is an attorney here on FR that might like to shed some light on all this?

You are misunderstanding Reno’s argument. He is not saying each of us on FR should be careful about disclosing our small donations to a campaign.

Instead, he is saying that bundlers such as 2DV may get FR in trouble. 2DV has been honest with us for months that he is bundling for Cruz. And he has included donation requests for Cruz in his tagline.

Jim Robinson has already served notice in a subsequent post that no one on FR should use FR to solicit money on behalf of any campaign.

And 2DV in the very next post said he will comply, and he removed the donation link from his tag line.

My hubby gets these same spam CRuz emails.
*********************************************************
“Jane Long”, between email and Twitter, I get such “spam” (mainly fundraising) messages from probably ALL the candidates in the Republican primary (well...maybe not the Pataki campaign, but all the others including ones I actively don’t like such as Grahamnesty & Rubio & Bush).

It’s all part of the political game. Some folks, CLEARLY, do not like that (possibly because some candidates such as Cruz and Carson have been VERY successful at raising $millions in small donations) and appear to be going out of their way to suppress it.

I think the anti-Cruz posse here FEARS the fundraising success Cruz has been having from small donors.

That ad is CREEPY/weird/not well done at all.

YOU look at it, WITH AN OPEN MIND, and tell me that it isn't "off putting"!

I did NOT claim that that Cruz and his wife are "creepy"; I said that that ad is.

This is BS. I get emails and calls every stinking day from those I have no affiliation with whatsoever. Every cause imaginable. I gave Cruz all the money I could up front, when I suspect it mattered the most to his campaign. They contact me now, but who cares, I’m not offended, just not giving. Wow, candidates asking for your money. Go figure? I bet, $100 to $1 that Trump is asking for your money before this is all over and done, despite his riches (if he goes onto the next round).

“House Atreides”, I don’t get such ‘spam’ on twitter or email, like hubby does from CRuz.

Occasionally, I’ll get a Carson email donation request, or random Congressional candidate’s request....but NOTHING like the CRuz campaign requests hubby is receiving.

I could care less how much CRuz or Carson are raising. Neither are my candidate.

It’s been proven to you, on this thread, that many FReepers are indeed annoyed with Cruz’s donation request spamming technique.

Well, I understood Reno’s “argument” and I understand EVEN BETTER his intent. And, IMHO, his intent was to try to suppress donations to the Cruz campaign. 2DV changed his tagline out of respect for and in the interests of Jim Robinson.

But Reno needs to understand one thing...FReepers are not stupid and are smart enough to figure out for themselves how to donate to their candidate. Reno should not be unpleasantly surprised to see small donations to Ted Cruz increase SUBSTANTIALLY in the future. WE WILL NOT BE SUPPRESSED!

Well, I have been pro Trump for a long time. When I first started getting emails from Cruz and others I let them know that. That is when I started getting many a day from them. I have tried to unsubscribe from them but evidently that only made it worse. I think I have gotten money emails from all of the candidates except Trump. It is getting old.

Nobody here is trying to "suppress" anyone; okay, perhaps the Cruzites are, with their constant bully tactics and worse.

You're just being paranoid, now.
