It was the lack of oil and gas that caused the failure of the Bulge attack and the Nazi inability to hold back the Russians that led to defeat of Germany. Bernie has no comprehension of the energy needs of the world.

Since electricity is a fungible commodity, there's no way to know whether the electrons he uses are from renewable sources, fossil fuel, or (gasp!) nuclear power.
