“Rumors are starting to fly that Republican elites are considering adding Mitt Romney to the Republican primary in a last-minute attempt to destabilize the popularity of non-traditional candidates Donald Trump and Ben Carson,”
Because so many of the “support the outsider candidate” voters are really looking to rally around Mittens....
Or is it that he’s supposed to gather up all of the Cruz, Fiorina, Paul, and all votes?

Look at it from their side, they are witnessing their own end and seeing their power evaporating, but Romney and the whole Mormon choir will not make it happen for the GopE.
Trump better bring some of his own bodyguards, between Clintons and the GopE he could be nullified.

This is good news
Romney would split the GOP-e vote with Rubio & Carson improving the odds of Trump or Cruz getting the nomination

I don’t think Romney has much traction except in two very important places, New Hampshire and Nevada.
Perhaps the GOPe’s hope they can plant Romney in NH which neighbors the state he used to govern to break Trump’s momentum in a key early state. Romney can also do well in another early state Nevada, with its large Mormon population.
The GOPe’s best bet to stop Trump in early states Iowa and South Carolina is Ben Carson, who is heavily promoted on Fox News and their tool.
If the GOPe can use Romney and Carson to break Trump in early states, perhaps they can get Romney some momentum to win later states.

Do you remember 1968? If they elite can’t steal the nomination somewhat invisibly and without twisting the laws to the breaking point, that’ll seem like a holiday destination in comparison. That’s not a threat or promise; it’s a real fear that does remember 1968.

Are you talking about the Democrats in 1968? Only about a third of Democrat delegates were chosen in primaries at all back then. Unless I’m mistaken the filing dates have passed in some early states already. “Rumors” of some GOPe bigwigs having wet dreams of some hack riding in to rescue them from the vulgarians are just fantasy.

Oh don’t mind me folks. I’ll just be over here laughing at all the freepers who told me that Romney was done and to STFU about it.
Ahem...

Don't underestimate the treachery of the GOP elitists. Cochran and Murkowski are still in the US Senate, in spite of the will of Republican primary voters. Remember back to the beginning of the primary season, when the manipulators did everything in their power to keep Trump off the debate stage?
They don't care about winning. They care about keeping power. I would assume they have a plan to deprive Trump the nomination. It's not the election they care about so they have nothing to lose. To underestimate the puppetmasters is to give them an opening to steal the nomination.

Romney is also frothing at the mouth to get into the race.
He may try to pull his old running mate Ryan’s trick and make it look like he’s somehow some sort of reluctant savior, only convinced against his own wishes to come forward for the good of his party and country.
Blech!!!

Yah, and he's announced his VP choice and campaign slogan too:

Sure does look like that.

I thought something looked horribly wrong when I saw him and his wife sitting there when paul ryan became speaker of the house.
People are saying that he will be nominated at a brokered convention.

How are going to get that with Trump/Carson/Cruz likely being a LARGE majority of the delegation? There's no reason for the Rubio people to go along with such a deal either. The Establishment WON'T have enough rogue delegates, and I could see a massive walkout if this crap gets tried. Gulliver WILL NOT be tied down by Boshner or McConnell in this setting.
