I think it is stupid to talk about cutting entitlements. What you talk about is sound budgets and work to move entitlements from the federal level to the state level then let the states decide what they want to do with them. The only way to win is to divide and conquer. It’s much easier to sell things like welfare reform and getting rid of Obamacare than to talk about getting rid of medicare.
Sure I want to cut entitlements. I want them gone. No one should be entitled to other people’s money. However there is no way we are going to succeed politically attacking medicare directly. What we can do is stop doing stupid crap like expanding it which GW Bush and many GOP Governors have done under Obamacare.
If Trump truly reforms the tax system I have to think he’ll cut the backdoor welfare checks for EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit). It’s a start.
Cutting Entitlements should be as incremental as Expanding Entitlements.
First, make sure no Illegal Invaders get a dime of Taxpayer Funded Welfare Programs including the EITC scam.
Second, attack the Fraud and Waste these type of Programs create. The idea of just mailing a Check to someone and not checking on how that Taxpayer Money is spent is outrageous.
Third, consolidate the ridiculous amount of Programs into something that reduces all the costs and waste in using overlapping Agencies.
Fourth, create a Free Economy that produces Jobs so people don’t depend on the Government to sustain themselves. Stop making Welfare more profitable than having a Job.
Well, it’s a start.
As my Dear Late Mother always said, you help People who CAN’T help themselves, not People who WON’T help themselves.
“reform and getting rid of Obamacare than to talk about getting rid of medicare.”
Don’t you mean Medicaid?
