2016 GOP presidential candidate Senator Rand Paul (R-KS) called into Kilmeade & Friends and talked about Senator Ted Cruz being rebuffed on the senate floor by republicans who failed to allow him a roll call vote, John Boehner stepping down as Speaker of the House, why he feels its important to be present for votes on the senate floor, defunding Planned Parenthood, why he thinks Scott Walker dropped out of the race as well as news coming out of the UN on Syria and Russia.

Senator Ted Cruz being snubbed with not one republican granting him the procedural courtesy of a roll call vote.
Ted has chosen to make this really personal and chosen to call people dishonest in leadership and call them names which really goes against the decorum and also against the rules of the senate, and as a consequence he cant get anything done legislatively. He is pretty much done for and stifled and its really because of personal relationships, or lack of personal relationships, and it is a problem. I approach things a little different, I am still just as hardcore in saying what we are doing , I just chose not to call people liars on the senate floor and its just a matter of different perspectives on how best to get to the end result.(continued)

The “Decorum of the Senate” only allows democrats to falsely accuse Republicans (and some GOPe) of all manner of vile things. But NOTHING can be said, even if true, about the Demonrats.
This is the kind of crap we get when our elected Congress is more concerned with “decorum” than they are in getting bills that reflect the will of the people passed. Rand Paul is part of the problem. If McConnell doesn’t want to be called a liar he should stop lying,,, preferably ON HIS WAY OUT THE DOOR.
Right?.... (sigh)
Hmmm...so Rand was A-OK with McCain including him among the “wacko birds” way back when?
Exactly, I want the guy that represents me to hate his colleagues as much as I do.
Rand, go away.
Ted is the only one I can tell that has the guts to stand up to your ship of fools.
Your power is melting away.
We are coming for you and your RINO buddies.
I am glad however that you have that eye Doctor thing going on because this country needs you doing that when you get thrown out.
1878-1920
February 22, 1902
From its earliest days, the Senate has consistently stressed the importance of decorum in its proceedings. Of the Senate's first 20 rules, 10 dealt with proper behavior. Vice President Thomas Jefferson included in his now-classic Manual of Parliamentary Practice a telling passage that reads as if it had been taken from a schoolroom wall. "No one is to disturb another in his speech by hissing, coughing, spitting, speaking or whispering to another; nor to stand up or interrupt him; nor to pass between the Speaker and the speaking member; nor to go across the [Senate chamber], or to walk up and down it, or to take books or papers from the [clerk's] table, or write there."On February 22, 1902, John McLaurin, South Carolina's junior senator, raced into the Senate Chamber and pronounced that state's senior senator, Ben Tillman, guilty of "a willful, malicious, and deliberate lie." Standing nearby, Tillman spun around and punched McLaurin squarely in the jaw. The chamber exploded in pandemonium as members struggled to separate both members of the South Carolina delegation. In a long moment, it was over, but not without stinging bruises both to bystanders and to the Senate's sense of decorum.
Although Tillman and McLaurin had once been political allies, the relationship had recently cooled. Both were Democrats, but McLaurin had moved closer to the Republicans, who then controlled Congress, the White House, and a lot of South Carolina patronage. When McLaurin changed his position to support Republicans on a controversial treaty, Tillman's rage erupted. With McLaurin away from the chamber, he had charged that his colleague had succumbed to "improper influences."
On February 28, 1902, the Senate censured both men and added to its rules the provision that survives today as part of Rule XIX: "No senator in debate shall, directly or indirectly, by any form of words impute to another Senator or to other Senators any conduct or motive unworthy or unbecoming a Senator."

LOL
We hate name-calling, but lying like a rug is just fine.
If it weren’t for Cruz, Cornyn’s conservative rating would be in single digits.
Where is Ted Cruz in the polls?
Amazing how fast Paul became part of the establishment. Big mistake gluing his lips to McConnell’s GOPe butt.
Ted Cruz: “If you’re looking for someone to go to Washington, to go along to get along, to get - to agree with the career politicians in both parties who get in bed with the lobbyists and special interests, then I ain’t your guy.”
Regarding “decorum”. A reporter the other day asked Boehner what he thought of Ted Cruz’s presidential run. Boehner directed an obscene gesture at the camera.
Rand supports Mitch, whom Cruz has just about taken down, so he has to get snippy about it. Yes, Rand, we realize all politics is local, but you are now officially a squish. Wear it, you earned it.
What is Rand’s most recent achievement in the Senate?
Not only has Paul not called out McConnell’s lies, he endorsed the liar for reelection.
Sit down, Rand.
Lots higher than Rand Paul. And rising, with plenty of financial support (more than John Ellis Bush, for example) and a good ground organization in many states.
Rand Paul & Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz share the same brand of hair mayonnaise & say equally stupid things.
Rand Paul has likely not listened to Cruz’ floor speeches regarding leadership. There is no name calling. There is truth telling, which is what he promised his voters he would do.
He has accomplished a lot towards waking up voters (not FReepers—they already knew) even if procedurally he is being stonewalled.
The natives are restless and watching. Drums are definitely beating.
By the way, Paul, you’ve been noticeably unhelpful in the Senate battles.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Decorum from this government. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
