Absolutely agree. We are at an 1850s moment where the go along-to get along Whigs were thrown out in favor of a new party that stood for something.

None of them do! Which is why Trump is so high in the polls! He is using his pre-presidential bully pulpit! I love it! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Agree, but also recently Cruz made some unwise votes in the Senate which didn’t help matters. I Love Cruz, but Trump is the one storming the castle.

The way I look at it if I had invested $25,000 in every deal Trump has made in the last 20 years Mr. GG2 and I would be cruising down the coast in our 48ft Sea Ray on the way to our private island in the keys.

Why not invest 2 votes in him for President? :-)

It is my belief that we are witnessing the final overthrow of the Republican party from within. If Trump is elected the Republican party will cease to exist.

I have similar beliefs about the overthrow of the republican party, but instead, I believe there will be a complete purge of conservatives, resulting in a "republican party" similar to that of the 1970s dems, without the "Scoop Jackson" types.

However, I don't hold out any hope. I'm seriously considering doing just what the establishment republicans want, to "go Galt," at least as best I can. The fact that they couldn't get rid of Bonior and Mcconell after they did nothing about Obamacare and funded amnesty means they're completely useless and don't care about anything but their own power and positions.

Here Frank lemme make it as plain as the fat nose on your face.
In the 2012 election, the GOPe said, get us CONgress and we will put an end to Obamacare. They got the House, could have defunded it and wimped out. Remember the closure of strategic parks and monuments Luntz? Huh?
So, as a result, they then said, we need the Senate also and we will put an end not only to Obamacare, but everything else he is trying to destroy. They got BOTH, the House and the Senate and guess what Luntz. Can you name one GD major issue these worthless, slimy crooks have done that they promised?

Apparently he isn’t really so interested in finding out how people think on issues as he is about making sure they think the way the establishment wants them to.

“Push” focus groups.

I’ve seen some freeper comments over and over on Trump not being a conservative and Trump gave money to democrats in the past... and just utter dislike for him... I considered these to be persons who did not see the dire situation this country is in.. and they were not as angry as I have become. I figured they could live with the same ole same ole.. and I knew I could not. Until Trump came along, I had resigned to this being the end of the U. S. Trump has given me hope and the GOP makes my support for Trump stronger with every nasty word they speak. Names they call him.. they are calling me the same. Yes, the anger is loud .. and if they didn’t know it, it’s their own fault. Their elite club is tumbling down.

From the Treehouse article

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/07/30/nothing-unites-special-interests-like-a-common-enemy/

“If the hierarchy within the republican party loses an election to Democrats it’s only a lost election; they are still there, and still comfortable even in the minority.

However, if the hierarchy within the republican party loses an election to Conservatives, they are out of a job.”

This is why I’m supporting Donald Trump. I don’t care if he’s not a conservative in the traditional mold. He’s the only one able at this point to stand up to them because he doesn’t NEED their money and support.

Given the fact that an oligarchy has been established where both sides are as bad as the other, our only chance to stop the destruction of the Republic is by him exposing and disabling the political machine being used against us.

How many more elections followed by broken promises can we survive before it becomes necessary to use the 3rd of the 3 “B” boxes?

I am not convinced Trump is a conservative yet. My choice at this point is Cruz.

But given the choice between Trump and the ilk like Bush I will pull the lever for Trump and never for Bush.

I'd written off the 'Pub party...I'd concluded I, not the Boehners, was the RINO. This may be one last chance to take the party for conservatives.

I was looking for a third party. Maybe that's not necessary.

” I will not vote rino again period.”

I have wrestled with this question. It seems like a good idea to vote for a RINO IF, and only IF, there is no conservative alternative and there is a strong Republican president in the WH. The strong Republican president can pull even the RINOs into line. As disgusted as I am with these RINOs, they could be led a little better than Democrats. It’s become clear in recent years Democrats are going to vote the party line.

The result will be a complete realignment of BOTH political parties.

This needs to happen, otherwise it is time for the less viable option, a new (conservative) party to replace the GOP.
