S.E. Cupp: "We Need Jeb Bush Because Electability Is Important"
RCP Video ^ | 8-18-2015 | RCP transcript

Posted on 08/19/2015 6:50:39 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

S.E. CUPP: He'll (note: Jeb!) always have a tough time with immigration, he'll always have a tough time with education. We thought he would have a better time when it came to terrorism. Obviously had a little difficulty with that as well. So he's got to steak out his ground on jobs and the economy, growing the economy, solving for income inequality, solving for poverty. Ideas like that.

I would give him this advice. Chris Christie's best line, the best moment on the stump is when he says, 'I want to win' and that's the kind of fire that I think we need to see from Jeb Bush, not that just he wants to win personally but wants a Republican to win. And so that we need Jeb or we need Jeb or someone like that because electability is important. We can't just stand on an ideological pedestal or be entertained by the loudest guy in the room and expect to win in a general election. That's just not how it works.

It’s not working. Bush was supposed to enter the race and suck all the air out of the room and everyone else was supposed to go slink off into the corner to wither. If that were going to happen, it would have happend by now.

There’s no natural constituency for him other than “he’s a moderate,” and even if the GOP ends up choosing one from the “moderate” bucket, why would it be a guy who impresses no one with his intellect or appeal?

Say S.E....

5 Million Conservatives, staying home, does NOT equate to “electability”!

So...tell me S.E.

How does Jeb like his steak when he uses it to delineate his position on jobs and the economy? Well done? Rare?

Sheesh.

Cupp was a big promoter of fag-marriage. She can go choke to death.

Although you would think otherwise, I see very few lesbians coming out for Bush.

If Bush is the nominee it will be more like 15 million. I will “steak” a month’s salary on it....

Bush and electable are not two words I’d use in a sentence … unless, of course, electable is preceded by NOT.

Electable? How so?

Dems and other flavors of liberals ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR HIM.

A substantial number of conservative and right-of-center moderates ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR HIM.

Who's left? How do you win an election with, perhaps, 30 to 35% of the vote?

Never heard of S. E. Cupp. But electable? How can he be electable when the party’s conservative base dislikes him even more than they disliked McCain and Romney? If the party’s base stays home or goes third party, how can he be elected to anything?
