Perry and the Royal “WE”... -FoxNews Sunday with Chris Wallace yesterday! Perry creeps me out!
I think you will agree that you did not do well in debates last time — which raises the question whether it’s this debate or some of the others, aren’t they more important to you than they are perhaps to any other candidate, so that you can show that you are not Rick Perry of 2012, but youre a new and improved Rick Perry?
PERRY: Well, you’re kind in that observation. But, yes, I think a lot of people are waiting for that 6th of August debate. And they know our record. They know that this is a governor that is overseeing the 12th largest economy in the world for the last 14 years, and from ‘07 to 2014, created 1.5 million jobs while the rest of the country lost 400,000 jobs. They know that we’re, you know, socially conservative. All of those things have penetrated through.
They want to see a debate performance that is, you know, more than passable. I will suggest to you that’s exactly what they’ll get.
WALLACE: So, what are you doing — I mean, how are you preparing? And is it in the back of your mind I can’t afford another oops moment?
PERRY: Well, I have not made it any secret that my preparation has been substantially more than what it was four years ago. We got in this process late. We had had major back surgery. We were not prepared physically or mentally, and it reflected that.
So, the preparation is going to be very reflective of what we’ve done. I think people will see a very, very focused, disciplined candidate and you add that to the record, and I feel very comfortable about where we are at this particular moment in time.
Need better analysis IMO...when Rick Perry didn’t shutdown that fat, nasty, drunk broad who tried to railroad him (and may have succeeded), he proved that what Trump is doing is successful, and the opposite is not. If he would have come out swinging the Texas people would see him as standing up for himself, ergo, his beliefs. I said at the time he was toast politically as a result.
“Forget that. Weed out the GOP of those who are actually part of the problem, first. Rick Perry is toast. And he needs to be defeated so badly he cannot resurface.”
Weed out the RINO’s. What Trump, Cruz and Walker need to do is praise each of the RINO’s for their contributions to the party and the country and in the same breath say they cannot win because Conservatives already made up their minds not to vote for them.
The field, after the media hit piece on the Conservatives will start to diminish.
