Donald Trump, whos polling at the head of the 2016 Republican primary pack, has finally decided to hire a national political director.
The media moguls presidential campaign announced Thursday that it had hired Michael Glassner for the job.
Michael is responsible for developing and implementing a national political plan and will oversee strategic planning operations nationwide on behalf of Donald J. Trump for President, Trumps campaign said in a statement.
In the 2008 cycle, Glassner served as a top aide to Sarah Palin on Sen. John McCains presidential campaign. Hes also a former aide to former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole, and in the 2000 presidential campaign cycle he served on the Bush-Cheney campaign as an adviser in Iowa.
I am proud and honored to have the opportunity to work with Donald J. Trump, the very definition of the American success story, Glassner said in a statement. Mr. Trump has set the standards of excellence in many areas, including real estate, sports, and entertainment and now in American politics. As the newest member of the Trump national campaign team, I look forward to doing my part to Make America Great Again.
A Quinnipiac poll released Thursday found Trump leading the GOP primary field, with 20 percent of likely Republican voters backing Trump, followed by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker with 13 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush with 10 percent.
Palin and Trump have been exchanging kind words lately. Most recently, Trump said that hed love to have the former Alaska governor in his Cabinet.
Shes really somebody who knows whats happening. Shes a special person. Shes really a special person. And I think people know that and shes got a following thats unbelievable, Trump told the host of Mama Grizz Radios The Palin Update.
Im looking at some of these candidates, theyre weak, theyre ineffective and to a degree thats almost hard to believe. And, you know, [voters] like the Sarah Palin kind of strength. You just dont see very much of it anymore, he said.
They act like he’s the newer, better Reagan. No, I’m not kidding.
She likes him. She hired him as her chief of staff in 2012.
Trump hires a Palin staffer. Walker hires Brad Dayspring, a vicious hatchet man.
Ah, yes, there's a reason people use the term "Throne of Skulls" when discussing Walker.
Sounds like he may be a bit more invested than the last time he “ran”. Makes things all the more interesting.
