Perhaps the Republican leadership and its Establishment apparatus dont realize just how dangerous is the game theyre playing against conservatives, or perhaps they just dont care. There is a part of the GOP power structure that has always been most happy to serve as the permanent minority, personally enriched by serving as minor, ineffective obstacles to the ruling Left.
They win elections by cadging millions from conservatives desperate to Do Something about the mess in Washington, then sink comfortably into that mess as though relaxing in a jacuzzi, rousing themselves only to display true fury against the occasional cage-rattling, boat-rocking conservative insurgent.
There are always conservatives who denounce this state of affairs and pronounce themselves tired of serving as campaign-cash piggy banks for politicians who view them as far worse enemies than the Democrats, but in this election cycle, the Let It Burn caucus of disgusted, demoralized, and disengaged voters is particularly loud. I dont think the Establishment understands just how bitter and dispirited their base has become....

Excellent article.
What would happen if all the disaffected voters left the Uniparty and voted Third Party?
MUST-READ BUMP
What a beautiful thought.
Only a very few. The vast majority of us are smart enough to know who he is, and just enjoy the well-needed wrecking ball he's been to the pissant GOP body politic.
You DO know that, don't you?
FOX News wasn’t friendly to Cruz this morning after what happened over the weekend. Lots of hit pieces.
I’m IN, and I can lead a few of my family and freinds.
It is....this guy writes well.
They never come out and say it, but FNC is basically the megaphone for the GOP establishment.
Sorry, do you mean within or from?
Actually, if you mean within, I think we need to set up a conservative-only organization within the party, that nominates a candidate from among the most conservative (no RINOs like Jeb or Christy-Kreme) Republican candidates before the Republican primaries.
This could be done via an online pre-primary held by this new party, with the understanding that all members who vote in this primary agree to vote for the winner of the pre-primary in their state’s primary. In this way, we could take back the process, avoid being RINO-blocked for the nomination, and tell the mainstream media as well as the consultants to go pound sand.
Yes, within the GOPe, go 3rd party independent of the liberals of GOP.
It would be disastrous going compelely 3rd party from the GOP for that would guarantee a Hillery win or whom even is the DNC nominee.
Ted Cruz, the leader of the NEW Conservative Party within the old GOP.
Hillary wins with 40% BUT 370 electoral votes.
Looks very much like 1992.
The ultimate irony, a THIRD Clintonian plurality win for POTUS.
Good observation, gwgn02. But, they also are counting on the ‘votes’ of folks who are voting against Hillary. It has nothing to do with policy, campaign platforms, or core beliefs (they have none). It is all about winning. They don’t see a need to maintain, let alone champion, conservative values. They see only a need to rail against HRC and dhimmicraps; even though they are not that far apart on substantive issues.
To date, the GOPe has caved on:
Debt Ceiling
Downsizing Government
Privatizing Social Security
Tax Reform
Border Security
Immigration Control
Amnesty for Illegals
Criminal Activities in Government (State, IRS, EPA, etc.)
There is NOTHING left that recommends them to true conservative voters, other than they are running against(?) dhimmicraps.
There is no doubt we need a third party. We’ve needed that for the last 30 years or more. Every election cycle, though, conservatives end up compromising their core principles, casting votes for dhimmicrap-lite candidates, or sitting home.
In the current cycle, we have Ted Cruz still standing tall for conservative principles. While Donald Trump is making waves, I cannot accept that he is anything near ‘conservative’. His stand on nationalized healthcare, alone, is enough to show off his true colors.
Maybe we can still get Ted Nugent to jump in.
And you list left out a lot.
your
I can’t possibly express the utter hatred and I do mean hatred, that I have for the corrupt, back-stabbing GOP leadership and their corrupt colleagues.
All the honest had a chance to stand with Cruz and how many did you see?
