I think the point is to distract from the democrats so they don’t end up with rioting outside the democratic convention.....again.

By that time it may not matter--Trump after failing to become the nominee will have launched his independent campaign, guaranteeing a Democrat victory, even if Bernie Sanders is the nominee.

It sounds like the Nazi wing of the DemocRAT Party are really feeling their oats. (Or doing a lot of drugs).
I have two reactions to this:
1) Bring it on, this will really hurt Hillary, who will by that time have so tightly embraced the back voting block, as to be aligned perfectly with it. When white voters see this kind of nonsense, they will flock away from her.
2) The GOP needs to do some contingency planning, for this threat or something else, so that delegates can cast their votes remotely. Call it a virtual convention, but have a plan B out there so that, if delegates where stuck in their hotel(s) the show could still go on. I wouldn’t have selected Cleveland, but... I suppose it beats Baltimore.

Black Lives Matter adopting the KKK’s tactics against Republicans, apparently. Interesting liberal blacks are the successors to the KKK abuse tactics concerning Republicans.
What they need to do is say Cleveland, but be meeting somewhere else.
Or tell them Springfield and let them assume its the one in Illinois, but really be in another state.
Keep in mind it is distinctly possible we may be looking a a brokered convention this time.
I can see several scenarios where that happens.
I don't know if Trump is a Democrat or a Republican. Just because he loudly states a conservative point of view on a few issues doesn't mean that he is a conservative. He may be conservative on economic issues but he may be more liberal than Romney on the social issues.
