No, Perot blew himself out of the race. When he first entered the race the polls basically showed each candidate with 1/3 of the vote. Perot chose to act like an idiot, pulling out of the campaign because Bush was supposedly going to ruin his daughter's wedding, and then came back into the campaign afterward but this whole nutty episode cost him most of his third of the supporters. Had he stayed the course, it is very likely he would have won the election, people liked his plain talk, they were just as tired of weasel words and mealy mouths as we are now. If Trump does decide to go third party, and he is serious about it, he will pull that disaffected third of the electorate (the USA party types, most of whom are still alive.) So then we will see a 3-way race, neck in neck. So then we will see a lot of republicans thinking twice about voting for Jeb who they really don't want, and the same for a lot democrats who don't really trust or like Hillary. My thought is, if Trump is serious about this, he will win. The democrats are just as afraid of Trump as the republicans are.

I think Trump’s enough of a business man to know that it would be felony stupid to rule out a 3rd party run at this point. That doesn’t mean he would run. I think he does love the country.
