Pretty much the way I look at it. It reeks of desperation on Santorum’s side because it says that the only person who treats him seriously is someone who has been totally compromised.
Isn’t there someone behind the scenes saying enough is enough. Some power broker or brokers to stop this insanity? and now Pataki is throwing in?
it’s going to seem like a circus to people.
He’ll never be the nominee. Neither will Huckabee or Carson.
Rick is a nice guy but, he is pissing in the wind
but they could screw things up real bad.
Sigh...
The GOP WANTS the circus folks. Thats how Romney for 2016 wins under whatever name he uses. Same RINO Different face. Dear God someone explain why people do not understand this?
If all of the candidates are allowed to debate and everyone is just going to get five minutes each, then there might be a walkout. If some candidates aren't allowed because of arcane rules about deciding which candidates are in and which are out, then there could also be a walkout. For example, if the only female and only black candidate don't qualify for the debates, the politically correct thing for all the other candidates to do would be to boycott the debate.
I'm beginning to like the fact that there are a gajillion Republicans running.
Two things:
1; The talk about the way the debates went in light of Candy ‘Samples’ last time, in addition to Steph’s recent outing means people will tune in to watch the Duggars of politics loose their crap on live TV debating...
2: Ted Cruz.
I wonder why they do not want that to happen.
If there is a brokered convetion Santorum, Huckabee and Trump can make demands if they can fluke a few states.
This is why I think Jeff Sessions should run.
Jeff could win GA, AL, MS, LA, TN, AR, MT and maybe CO(with Tancredo’s help) and demand a bunch of concessions from the winning candidate.
Great headline.
This isn’t a game.
Carson seems to be surging. He won a straw poll and in a Fox poll that came out earlier today, he had 10 percent— and so did 5 other people, with no one clearly at 1st place.
On the point on 'entertainment' - what I am implying is that some candidates would be amazing for debates, and would be amazing attack dogs, but an election is not about debates. An election is about (a) the ability to lead a nation towards better and greater, and (b) an election is about the ability to win. Just like my earlier point, without a & b then entertaining debates are a waste of time. The equivalent of political American Idol or a political reality show. At times entertaining, and will be discussed around the water cooler the next day (and obviously in forum posts), but genuinely a waste of time without a & b. Take Herman Cain, for example, in the last election cycle. It would have been interesting to see a debate between him and Obama, but then what?
What America needs is a real Conservative who has the ability to lead the country, has a passion to win, and is able to effectively communicate. A real conservative. Ability to lead the country. Passion to win. Ability to effectively communicate.
Those eliminate a lot of people by the way. There some who can do it but don't have the passion to win. Others cannot communicate well. Others do not have leadership ability. And others have all of those but are not Conservatives.
The next election will be very important, and it remains to be seen whether Conservatives will select and support a candidate with those attributes, or whether it will be just another cycle where (step 1) Conservatives form circular firing squad, (step 2) Conservative candidates and their supporters slay each other early on while the RINO candidate stays unscathed, (step 3) the RINO candidate is left as the only 'electable' one after the bloodbath, (step 4) that RINO candidate goes against a Democrat voting machine that by a mix of planning, scheming and lying goes ahead to defeat the RINO.
Let's see if Conservatives have wised up or it is more of the same, but so far it seems that the tendrils of foolishness that have grown far and deep in the Republican Party are still strong and nourished.
So strong and so well nourished that if I had to place a bet I would say the nominee will be another RINO.
Prove this Kenyan wrong!
Downwind or upwind?
Great headline.
If Rick Sanatarium was a conservative he’d endorse Cruz or perhaps Wakker and go help them.
But here’s the pressing issue: did he freeze his dead baby so he can take her out and do more creepy photos?
Where’s my sweater vest ?
Rick Santorum would have greatly improved his credentials and stature had he chosen to run for governor of Pennsylvania and won in 2014. Instead, in a nationwide GOP massacre of democrats, PA was the only state that stands out as a liberal win for a governor’s seat.
Truth be told, Rick probably would not have won that race had he run. He can’t carry his own state, no chance or point in him running for president.
I think Pataki could take a few votes from Bush, but I don’t see him hurting the Conservatives. Surely Santorum’s supporters are smart enough to not waste their vote?!
