“Was there ever a Bush that was a true conservative?”
There were two of them that CLAIMED to be conservative that became president. The first one gave away his colors so bad that he lost re-election to an incredibly flawed candidate. The second one was barely elected (i.e., not trusted in the first place), then barely re-elected (i.e., proved that the doubters were right.
On the other hand, there was ONE Republican that claimed to be conservative and actually was. He won two landslides.
So which of the two approaches do practically every leader of the Republican Party and every Republican consultant (most of them gay, by the way) ‘claim’ will win? It certainly ain’t the second.
I wonder why the Great One picked Bush as his vp? Was it to assuage the hacks, who originally wanted Bush?
