Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, a likely candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, speaks Spanish in a new video celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

The video was released by Bush's political action committee, which described it as "a message for the entire Hispanic population in the United States, but especially those of Mexican origin." Bush is fluent in Spanish.

"Cinco de Mayo is an honorable date when Mexico, our neighbor, bravely defended itself against a foreign intervention," Bush said. "Here in the U.S., Cinco de Mayo has become a day where we celebrate our ties with Mexico and the great contributions of the Mexican-American community in the U.S."

Bush said that for him personally, that "relationship is very profound" because his wife Columba was born in Mexico. "I have great respect and affection for our neighboring country," he added.

Bush's success in reaching out to Hispanic voters is seen as an asset in the coming campaign, but many conservatives are skeptical of his views on immigration.

From the text:

Cinco de Mayo is an honorable date when Mexico, our neighbor bravely defended itself against foreign intervention.

A little reminder of another brave defence against a foreign intervention. Sam Houston, American commander against General Santa Anna of Mexico. The Battle of San Jacinto. April 21st 1836. Near La Porte. Texas.

Wikipedia informs us.
Mexican surrender and retreat to the Rio Grande.
Casualties: 630 Mexican dead. 9 American dead. Texas thus remained Texas. The Texan forces were well aware of the uncivilized treatment of a defeated enemy by Santa Anna and his men. They had to win, else face another Goliad. This where the garrison surrendered to Mexican forces and most were murdered.

It will destroy more than the party.

Its probably already too late but we need an immediate reversal of national direction.

Jeb the RINO squish is most definitely NOT the man for the job. He has no clue whats coming our way if things don't change soon.

Jeb should move to Mexico and run for El Presidente under the PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional) ticket.

” F Mexico, they have never been our friends and never will be but first and foremost at this time F the Bushes and their entitlement dynasty.”

I like rrrod’s post #12 better. : )

If you want to hear a Mexican say “No Se” Ask them what happened on Cinco De Mayo. Even in Mexico they still claim it’s “Mexican independence day”

It’s an obscure day of remembering a battle BUT has morphed in to a day to drink tequila and buy crappy Mexican cerveza.
