It’s VERY DIFFICULT to respond to a party that shows a pickup truck dragging a chain, which is what the Democrats did in 2000. We can try...but it would be A FIRST if our ideas could be identity-voting, and I mean WORLD-WIDE.
It’s next to hopeless. The BEST POLICY is to try to explain why are ideas are good - but NEVER pander, such as emptying our jails, as Rand Paul apparently wants to do.
Changing minds and voting habits won’t happen overnight. But it’s clear that what the party is doing (and has been for several decades) now simply isn’t working. At no point, however, do I advocate simply pandering or non-Conservative pitches (which is what Paul is doing).
I don’t think setting a goal of getting 25% of the Black vote is a fanciful notion. That may not seem like a whole lot, but getting that much would guarantee the Democrats get shut out of races in many states.
