This was a clumsy unforced error by Ben Carson. He’s a great individual, but is not ready for prime time and all their gameplaying with gotcha questions. Ben looks young but he’s 63 years old, and not likely to drastically change the way he expresses himself. At least we see this now, not during the national debates as we did with Perry. If a republican is somehow elected, I hope Carson becomes the Surgeon General of the U.S. then hires a team of aides who will provide all quotations to the media.
As far as Carson’s concerned with regards to the presidency, the last thing we need is to give the PC crowd a do-over in selecting a black president.
It was tried and it failed... Maybe in a hundred years it might be time to re-visit it.
Oh I see, the Libertarian rag is trashing everyone but Rand Paul and wants us to believe that their brand (which totally falls on its face when it isn’t lying and saying it’s conservative and Republican) is the only way forward?! Um, I’ll pass!
Someone explain to me how ultra progressive NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio married a militant ex-lesbian and has a child...
and
the gay lifestyle is NOT a CHOICE?
Because newsrooms are overpopulated with homosexuals compared to the general population coast to coast. It is a litmus test question, if you are not down with the homofascists, you must be pinklisted in the media.
The best answer he should have given is I don’t know. I wouldn’t spend a lot of time on this subject if I wanted to win.

You are equating Obama with Dr. Carson?
How dimwitted.
Any politician making Ben Carson’s argument risks getting permanently sidetracked in a winless war of rhetoric. That is a method the opposition uses to keep your more significant issues from ever getting discussed. Remember Todd Akin and his ideas about rape? There are some issues that do not have a provable cut and dried answer for everyone. Better to focus on jobs, health and education, city infrastructure, bread and butter issues.
Carson jus personal offended by the gay-black comparison. What he says is certainly true, and if anyone would actually investigate, it is probably true that sexual abuse is the trauma that make some many boys homosexual. Cuomo tried to throw out the domination thing. Well, a child is at least as much under the power of adults as prisoners are under stronger ones. But I would just like Reason to use methodical doubt to question some of the science put out by the mental health industry. It was they who invented homosexuality as a mental illness thing. They may have invented the word itself. Unable to cure it, they finally decided that the rules against it were just mere conventions, and by dubbing it acceptable, they created a new convention. I mean if man is just an intelligent ape, why punish him for behaving like our distant relatives.
“You are equating Obama with Dr. Carson?”
No, not at all. If we had elected Carson instead of Obama, I’m sure we would be on the right track. However,
Almost anyone would be better than Obama. Obama was chosen because he was black. He had no other qualifications. You are unlikely to get the best person for the job by getting behind someone who comes from a group that is 12% of the population. The black person chosen may very well be the best in the country, but by almost 10 to 1 odds, it’s not...
On that basis it’s almost insulting... And it’s certainly pandering.
This guy, like, writes like he’s, like, 25.
He’s like, the head honcho there and is, uh, 47 years old.
Not a lot of females in the male prison Doc.
I agree with Dr. Carson. Anne Heche — need I say more?
And he’s right. Marriage is a state issue, not a Federal one.
Because we said so!
And that’s just it — the orientation may not be a choice (although I don’t think it’s entirely genetic), but just as a person prone to drug addiction or an alcoholic need not ingest the substances, the person with the gay orientation need not engage in the lifestyle. If they do, that’s their business, but the orientation does not require the lifestyle.
Dr. Carson aside for the moment, someone like Alan Keyes would make a great president. I can think of others, such as Allen West, who would be good and happen to be black. That a candidate is or is not black isn't what matters -- it's what the candidate's views and policies are and what he or she would do in office.
Very true and very well said.
He told the truth.
