“I hope he goes third party.
Explain to me how that will turn out any differently than the most recent third parties that made the biggest splashes?”
None of those you cited were conservatives and could pull in Reagan Democrats and independents.
GOPe last election produced 4 million less Republican votes than even McCain got.
I held my nose and voted for Romney. I don’t see doing that for Jeb.
A third party after the Obama years is not going to just be like how Clinton just got a plurality running against Perot and Bush.
I see it entirely possible that a Cruz, Jeb, Hitlery contest could reunite the Reagan coalition and Cruz wins a plurality of the vote.
The thing is that if we conservatives could have our own debates and a pre convention to pick Ted instead of dividing our vote so Rove et al anoint Jeb or Mitt we could nominate Ted and chase the Rinos out of the party like Saint Patrick chased the Snakes out of Ireland.
It would be incredibly ironic if Hillary winds up with the THIRD Clinton POTUS win via a plurality. And it might just happen.
I can already hear Lanny Davis on the cable shows saying “the people have spoken”.
I did not say that nor is it my sentiment. You must be referring to another poster.
I was referring to the GOPe not wanting Cruz because he stands on principles.
I clicked on this thread just to see who is attacking Cruz.
I wonder if these old allegations about Cosby don’t make it much easier to bring out maybe even more women out of BJ Clinton’s Closet.
BJ could be Cosby’s mentor.
Clinton is sacred as far as the journ-0-lists are concerned. His sex life will get as much MSM attention as Baraq’s birth cert.
Hey Jen, Reagan won California, Massachusetts and the bleepin’ Teamsters.
Winner winner chicken dinner!!
I was thinking about this topic more. I think there are 4 voting constituencies.
1) Progressive left / limo liberals / moonbats
2) Benefactors of the welfare state.
3) I’ll call them “Chamber of Commerce Republicans” /GOPe. The business benefactors of the government largesse.
4) Tea Party / Constitutional Conservatives / People who pay for it all / Us
We need a candidate from group 4, which I think Ted Cruz is. What the Republicans have been doing is running a candidate for Group 3 hoping to drag us 4’s along. Charlie Brown is becoming increasingly wary of the GOPe holding the football.
“We the people” are groups 2 and 4, but I think the divide is too great for a candidate to build a winning constituency with.
