Why does the media assume that independents are liberals? Many moderates and independents are conservative on some or most issues and lean conservative on others. After all, conservatives outnumber liberals in this country in every state except Hawaii and the cesspool of liberals, Washington, DC. Conservatism is the dominant philosophy in America, but not in the media or federal politics.
I tend to place the “independent” voter in the low-information category.
I’m an Independent. George Bush sent me there. I’m an Independent because I don’t identify with either main party. They’re both too left for me.
