A Leader
And a conservative plan.
That's been the RINO problem all along trying to court and compromise for the liberals instead of championing the conservatives and working class.
If you mean “why” is he running: because being a once-ran makes it easier to raise your speaking and book fees, and makes you more likely to get a cushy job on Fox News. Bonus: Donors will finance his trip around the nation and all it will cost him is a bit of time.
If you mean “why” with regard to conservatives: unfortunately some people think we need to beat the Democrats at their own game and run an African American.
It doesn’t matter that he’s never bothered to run for office or hold office. It doesn’t matter that his understanding of the Constitution is poor at best because he has never bothered to learn and has no idea what the Founders said or meant. It doesn’t matter that he wants to fix Obamacare.
What else could it be? Ben Carson is not a conservative. He isn’t a Democrat, but not being a Dem isn’t the same thing as being a conservative.
I want Ted Cruz to wrap this up early.
Not a bad fellow, but he’s still learning his lines as a conservative. No thanks.
Scott Walker is at the top of my list. He’s the most battle-tested of the bunch.
I also like Mike Pence, Ted Cruz, Susana Martinez and Mike Lee. I’m really impressed with many of the new incoming members of the new Senate as well, for a future presidential run.
Can you say Token?
Well you know how it is. Recently retired. Looking for something to do with his time.
I can think of a whole lot better qualified people for the second spot than Ben Carson.
I like him alright, from what I know about him; which isn’t much. But, after the current occupant of the White House, I just don’t believe America is ready for another Black Prez. And, prolly won’t be for another 20 years.
If the president listens to the surgeon general on matters of public health policy, Carson is as anti-gun & pro-Obamacare as it gets.
Which is bad.
If the president ignores the view of the surgeon general because the SG is too liberal, as is the case with Carson, why bother with him at all, unless race is the reason.
Ben Carson is plainly not qualified to inform anyone on public health issues, because he has never bothered to study them.
We need someone who knows what first principles are and has proven that he is willing to fight for them.
From what I have seen, the choice is made by the establishment Republicans. Primaries are the show they put on to make us think we really have a say in the matter.
I think you may be correct, but how do they force everyone else to go along. Im referring to the other candidates.
There seems to be a system of seniority. Just like Dole and McCain it was their “turn”. I thinnk that is based on what they do for others on their way up. Quid pro quo.
I doubt it will change, unfortunately.
