The Ben Carson Factor. We Need A Black American On The 2016 Ticket. All Agreed?

Posted on 11/10/2014 6:08:45 PM PST by Cruz_West_Paul2016

It sure looks like Ben Carson is running. And if we want to win in 2016, we need to take a good chunk of the black vote. Ben Carson can "Woo Black Voters" into the Republican Party. All he has to do is tell them the truth regarding how Dem's actually feel about them. More like using them as pawns. Adding Ted Cruz to the ticket would be our best bet. Now we have a "Black/Latino Ticket". The Carson/Cruz or Cruz/Carson ticket is considered a Dream Ticket for many conservatives. That's the ticket that will bring in lots of minority voters. We could nominate the Dream Ticket of "Walker/Pence, or Walker/Cruz",but it wont be a sure thing in Blue States. Any combination of Carson/Cruz/West is still our best bet in 2016.

Truth be told, McCain could have lost that all on his own.

I don't think there's necessarily a need for "color" on the ticket. No matter what the color, it's character that I'm looking for. But if color is your key ingredient, I would consider West over Carson but either would be in my VP slot with Scott Walker at the top of the billing. It doesn't matter who the Republican party decides on, they will be villified to no ends by the press. That's a given.

But, with that said, whoever winds up on the ticket, I'm voting for them. It no longer matters. We are at a place in life where we are now fighting good vs. evil, make no mistake. This next election will not be about gun control or abortion or gay rights or any of the "social issues". This next election will be about the survival of our country against a party that wishes to destroy it. If you stay home because your dream ticket didn't make it to the big show... (1) you're an ass, (2) can kiss mine and (3) might as well go join the DU.

JMHO. As you were....

Not necessarily. The novelty has worn off.

You mean a reformist Governor that almost dragged McCain across the finish line, and who could have won that race for him and who did manage to launch a new conservative movement?

I don’t want a black, white, rainbow, queer, tranny, illegal immigrant male or female candidate - I want an American-loving, Constitution-abiding QUALIFIED candidate to run!

I agree to put a good coalition together early. I would probably put people in different jobs and add in Mike Lee, Trey Gowdy, Rand Paul, and a few more. Allen West doesn’t do it for me as VP. Perhaps as Defense Dept. I actually don’t care what order any of these people are in, except I would want to see most of them on the team. They are all close enough for me. All of them.

Agree, great head of health and human services though. Or Surgeon General.

This thread is shameful. This is not what Conservatives do.

No. Black voters vote for who will give them the most stuff and it isn't Republicans.

Hispanics the same.

Just responding to the title: My answer is no. We need two solid conservatives who can explain their positions in clear, easy to understand words—but who won’t be shaken by the fear mangers on the other side.

Seriously, we are choosing nominees based on gender or skin color?

When did we become the Democrat party?

I still see Cruz, Walker and Paul in the final three. But I do see Carson with an early lead in polls, but when Cruz and Walker enter the race, those two should be polling in the top two by far.

No.

Ben is not strong enough for the top of the ticket and brings no state as VP.

He would be great at HHS.

I like Ben and many of his ideas, but there aren’t enough voters who will sit and digest his message and his depth.

The reality is we need someone more dynamic like Ted Cruz.

Before throwing our hats in on a Ben Carson candidacy, we need to know a lot more about him on a lot more issues. I like him and everything he’s said but he and we would benefit from a thorough campaign. Maybe he’ll be the victor, maybe not, but let’s find out the right way.

We’ve already crowned one African American without a sufficiently in-depth exam, let’s not make it two.

Carson has never run for anything, has he?

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think he can win. What has he run successfully as an executive? It's an honest question. He may have run several businesses and organizations and I am just unaware.

Nevertheless, we need a thoroughly vetted candidate who knows how to raise money and build an organization. Does Carson fit this bill? I'll be happy to be wrong here.
