Cruz Scoping Out 2016 Office Space: Another indication of how serious the senator is about a WH run
US News & World Report's The Run 2016 Blog ^ | November 6, 2014 | David Catanese

Sen. Ted Cruz has deployed advisers to begin scoping out office space for a potential 2016 presidential campaign, a source with knowledge of the move tells U.S. News.

Over the past several weeks, aides to the first-term GOP senator from Texas have been looking for available real estate in Houston, where Cruz lives with his wife and two daughters.

The quiet decision to begin searching for a campaign headquarters location is the latest indication of Cruz's seriousness about a White House bid.

The first-term senator has totaled more visits to early primary states than any other possible candidate this cycle, according to a U.S. News analysis.

But before you can launch a presidential campaign, you need a place to physically put it.

One person who works for the senator says Cruz has not conducted any polling for a White House bid yet, and will not ultimately pull the trigger until he does so.

"Cruz is a big data guy. He's big on polling, big on data. He's going to want to poll and none of those conversations are happening," the source says....

Imagine what Ted Cruz could do with the House we just elected the one with the greatest majority of Republicans since before the 1930's. what do you think he could do with that Congress we just won, has there ever been such a Congress that Republicans had so much power?

Run Ted Run!

President Reagan had to fight a democrat House most of his time there. Now there is no such thing!

Run Ted Run!

Same here. He’s as genuine and gracious in person, as he is on TV/public eye.

He needs to get out in front of that, but I’m not sure what they are going to characterize him as. Palin was “Stupid Bible Thumping Hick.” It worked.
That won’t be the line of attack.

Cruz has serious Ivy League credentials, and the Democrat would probably suffer badly in the comparison.

I favor nominating a successful governor such as Walker of Wisconsin, for the simple reason that senators aren’t executives, and governors are.

As a campaigner and a strong debater, Cruz would be great as a VP candidate - and he would be a fine potential SCOTUS nominee after a win.

If you nominate a senator and the Dems nominate a governor, you could find yourself in trouble - the last (only) senator to win against a governor was Warren G. Harding, in the wave election of 1920.

One thing Cruz has that she didn’t is that he is a member of a Media Protected Minority. One way he could get out in front of criticism is to play that up. Anything he does that is religious should be Hispanic Religious.

I couldn't disagree more. Playing the "race card" is NOT something conservatives should ever stoop to. That's a liberal, divisive ploy. Cruz just needs to be AMERICAN. That's it.

Yes, and if he takes Palin as a running mate they would be unstoppable.

Ted Cruz is this generation’s Reagan

Agreed. Considering the far worse depth of socialism of our day than in Reagan's day, we need somebody who is up to the task. Cruz is just that man!

Reagan's affable homespun ways were all that was needed to defeat the left back then. Different times now, we need somebody exactly like Cruz, sharper than ANY Democrat. He'll destroy their asinine arguments.

Right now, I’m supporting Ted Cruz. There are others I would support in his stead (Walker, Jindal) but as of now, he’s the man.

That's pretty much my shortlist. Pence in Indiana could be a darkhorse, too. He's a great communicator. I would be all for Walker, but I need to see if he has 'it' when it comes to campaigning in the national media. He definitely has 'it' in Wisconsin, but running for president is largely a celebrity campaign. TV and bigtime media are a different game. I hope he runs, because I'd like to see if he could do it.

Someone help me out here. Cruz is of Cuban ancestry. Is there animosity between the Mexican Americans and the Cuban Americans? I’m wondering, would Mexican Hispanics support a Cuban Hispanic in a run for the Presidency? I mean, the surname “Cruz” is definitely a Hispanic surname. He’d carry Florida for sure, but what about the rest of the States that are heavily “Mexican”? Anybody????

Neither Hillary Clinton nor Elizabeth Warren are, or ever have been, a Governor; and one of them will be the Dem nominee.

Hillary was gonna be the the nominee in ’08, too . . .

It’s easy to get overconfident right after a big win; let’s see how this plays out. The Pubbies could still snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Not enough of the Republican wing of the Republican Party in the Senate or the House to be able to take things for granted.

I just don’t think we can afford to leave anything on the table. Governors are stronger candidates; let the Democrats nominate the weaker candidate.
