The GOP establishment is very well-positioned for 2016. They crushed conservatives in 2014, with only a few exceptions, and they have complete control of the party apparatus, particularly in my first-in-the-nation home state of Iowa.
None of them are the least bit interested in doing any of the things that must be done to save this free republic.
The outlook is pretty bleak, short of a miracle of Providence.

Your first two sentences (which may actually be predictions) overflow with optimism, and are in direct contrast with the last two, which resemble the spectre of a demolished Outhouse sinking in bubbly quicksand.

well, have to say that he is qualified adn more so than most but insn’t that the problem? We have more than enough politicians trying to gain office, but very few that just want to change things - ie, newcomers.
You’d think that after many years that the folks would figure this out but NO... These idiots keep election those folks that they can remember - name recognition - or in today’s dollars, money spent.

Wonderful future isn’t it? First, give thanks to our wonderful education system - America is horrible and anything else is better... Seems that children (and most teenagers (have been so programmed that they think that freedom and democracy is a BAD thing).. Heaven help us!!
