Can Sarah Palin save Pat Roberts in tight Kansas Senate race?
Yahoo! News / The Christian Science Monitor ^ | September 25, 2014 | Linda Feldmann

Sarah Palin appears in Kansas Thursday to stump for Sen. Pat Roberts, the most endangered Republican senator. She could be helpful, but there's irony in her pitch.

Sarah Palin has come to the rescue. The Republicans’ 2008 vice presidential nominee – and big-time political lightning rod – took the stage Thursday in Kansas on behalf of the state’s endangered Republican senator, Pat Roberts.

Three-term Senator Roberts is widely seen as the most vulnerable Republican senator in the November midterms. A loss would seriously harm the Republicans’ chances of retaking the Senate.

Enter Ms. Palin. The former Alaska governor’s public favorability has declined since she shot to fame six years ago – but no matter. Among all the big-name Republicans rushing to Kansas to save Roberts, she like no other can reach the very voters who need to rally to Roberts’s side: tea party conservatives....

Why are we always having to accept these RINOS?

It never hurts to stick with your convictions.

Even if it destroys the health care system and ushers in Obamacare? Or results in the courts being packed with radical leftist judges for decades?

People like you are better off ignoring politics and focusing on planning the second civil war.

God bless Sarah. She is doing what is best for the country even though she likely less than thrilled with the candidate.

I hear you.

But do you want Orman, who will support Obama & Reid? And what if Wolf comes out and endorses Orman, as is currently being rumored? That would be a betrayal of the highest order since Orman WILL caucus with the Dems, make no mistake. That is the reason the Dems worked so hard to get the Dem nominee off the ballot. All Dems are going to vote for Orman.

I feel your pain re your Roberts is out of touch & should retire, feelings.

But check out Roberts’ voting record by any one of the conservative outfits and he has a very conservative record.

And, as Palin pointed out, he was one of the few Senators who went to the floor during Cruz’s filibuster to defund Obamacare.

I hope you consider voting for Roberts for that reason alone.

If she (Palin) does pull his chestnuts out of the fire she'll never get credit for it.

Of course. Palin isn’t there to receive credit (nor Cruz); only calumny and blame. That’s the plan and the intent. Only Liberals (like Bob Dole) will get credit (hopefully, the line will be “well, at least he tried,” explaining away failure while stigmatizing people like Palin and Cruz with that same failure they so avidly seek to otherwise escape).

Politics 101.

What is your definition of RINO?

Roberts is either the fourth or the sixth most conservative senator, depending on which conservative outfit you look at.

That’s fourth or sixth out of 100.

That wouldn’t be my definition of a RINO.

Whether he has lost touch with his constituents or is too old and should retire are other questions, but as a nonKansas resident, I implore Kansans to please vote for Roberts to counteract my state’s two senatorial offerings: Blumenthal and Murphy.

Please, please, please.

Someone commented that they didn't know if they could get past all the stench to vote for Roberts this time. I replied: "It never hurts to follow your convictions." To which one FReeper replied (and I'll leave out the personal comment he/she made about me):

Even if it destroys the health care system and ushers in Obamacare? Or results in the courts being packed with radical leftist judges for decades?

MY REPLY: Uh..... I believe the health care system has already been destroyed and I don't know where you've been but Obamacare has ALREADY been ushered in. The Courts? Well, the GOP doesn't have a great track record on that either. Even my hero Ronald Reagan gave us that witch Sandra Day O'Connor. Herbert W. Bush gave us the ultra-liberal David Souter and George W. gave us the Chief Justice Roberts who with one stroke of his pen upheld Obamacare when it was going down in flames. He said: "Hold on; it is a tax. It's o.k." and Obamacare was ushered in.

I don't know how old you are, but, I became interested in politics and elections in 1952 when Ike defeated Stevenson for the first time. I was a little tyke. I've been active in politics practically all my life. I've finally learned that even if it's "our" guys who hate us because we're Conservative and vow to "crush" us wherever they find us... If you can't vote for them, you can't vote for them, or their buddies in their "Good Ol' Boys Club" who supports them in their politically nefarious deeds. And yes, to some people, their convictions are important. To the GOP lemmings and political whores...... not so much.

“Even my hero Ronald Reagan gave us that witch Sandra Day O’Connor.”

Reagan would be considered a RINO today. Instituted gun control laws as governor, amnesty as President, and the O’Connor thing. (I imagine there are many more examples)
