Sarah Palin To Campaign for Pat Roberts in Kansas Amid Lingering Grassroots Anger
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | September 23, 2014 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 09/24/2014 12:42:53 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin will campaign for incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) in Independence, Kansas on Thursday. Roberts is in need of help from the Tea Party favorite, as recent polls show he trails independent Greg Orman in this fall's general election.

Last week, the Kansas State Supreme Court granted Democratic nominee Chad Taylor's request to be removed from the ballot, setting up a two-person race between Roberts and Orman.

Roberts defeated Tea Party challenger Dr. Milton Wolf in the August 5 Republican primary by a relatively narrow margin of 47% to 41% in a bitterly personal contest that left many grassroots activists in Kansas disgusted with the heavy handed tactics of the Republican establishment. Roberts was hurt by Wolf's attacks on his residency claims, a weakness that may have sparked the strange turn of events that led to the withdrawal of Taylor and the rise in the polls of Orman.

The question is how far Palin's appearance in Kansas on behalf of Roberts will go to bring the embittered grassroots back to the Republican side....

Good response. Let's see how and if she is rewarded when Roberts wins in November.

I don't see the relevance. Roberts can do nothing for her. It's not about her. It's not about Roberts. It's about Reid and Obama in control, period. Why do so many people treat this like a cult of personality middle school class president election. This is the bigs. As conservatives, we should be focusing on ideas and not the soap opera of who is doing what to who.

Fine. You embrace the consequenses of Maj Leader McConnell with only 52-53 seats and nothing but reelected RINO’s like Graham, Cochran, Roberts, Alexander, et al that won’t do anything because they won’t be able to stop any filibusters and the Dems will filibuster everything. McConnell has already stated he’s restoring it after Reid recently stopped if for judicial appoinments.

So the MSM will hammer them for “doing nothing” even though Reid does nothing and so McConnell and his cronies will go Obama-lite to “work together” to “get things done” that will be increasing the debt ceiling, increased spending with CR’s, giving Obama his appointees because “he is president and won two elections and deserves to pick his judges” like McCain enjoys saying. Look at the worst Libs on the Supreme Court and they got plenty of RINO “Yes” votes.

Boehner already has given away the House’s power of the purse. He and McConnell won’t shut down the government to stop increased spening or fight an increase in the debt limit.

They won’t repeal Obamacare. They’ll fund it and talk about “making it better”. They’ll fall for every fake crises and spend more to “solve it” (remember TARP?).

So, please enlighten me on ANY conservative posistion that will be taken up and backed by these worthless RINO’s.

I’ll bet you $100 we hear McConnell, etc. after a few months of being in charge of Congress with say something like “we can’t move our agenda because we can’t stop a filibuster and we can’t override an Obama veto so what we really need is the presidency too in 2016”.

Then if we get Romney, Bush or Chrisitie shoved down our throats in 2016 it will be like 2005-06 and the GOP will take more light bulbs away. They’ll push “immigration reform” yet again. McCain will go back to saying tax rate cuts should be time limited (as he did before 2008 and then changed his mind for political reasons). They won’t seal the border because they think the “dreamers” all come here “out of love”.

So please, give me the logic to give RINO’s and DEM-LITES more power other than you like an R past their name. I actually believe the reason they’ve done practically nothing to really blow up the IRS over thier political oppression is because their fingerprints are on it too. Remember, McConnell has said he wants to “destory the Tea Party”.

Good Luck.

The RINO card has been played and nothing trumps that around here.

Especially when you mix it with arrogance, self righteousness, and ignorance.......

And Boner/McCockle are going to stop him?

Seriously?

“Mccockle” won’t have the majority to do so between Nov. and Jan. That’s why I said Obama will go all out during that time frame.

If the Republicans don’t take the Senate, Obama goes all out from then on.

Delusion. How will he do that with McConnell and his crony RINO’s stabbing him in the back. When he filibustered Obamacare he was attacked more by RINO’s than the left.

McConnell has publicly stated he wanted to “destory the Tea Party.”

you may be right - or you may be wrong. But you miss the point. The speed of the degradation will slow if Obama and the Dems have to filibuster - as opposed to having the majority.

Thus, the damage that will be done will be greater than if Reid is defeated. As such, a President Cruz, for example, will have an easier job if this happens.

McCockle and Boner are on the same page as Obola.

They both want amnesty.

They both want open borders.

no no no.....not FOR anybody, but AWAY from Reid and the Democrats. They will screw you a thousand times harder and faster than the GOP E will.

This is the significant problem facing the GOP these last few years. There is no one inspirational left in the party for anyone to vote "for"; we're just voting "against" the other party. At least on a National level. Hasn't been since Palin herself. (And no one outside of FR knows of people like Ted Cruz to even be inspired by them)

A political party can't last like that. Something needs to change. Certainly every conservative in Kansas needs to vote for Roberts at this point but sheer momentum can only carry a political movement or party so far. Eventually the momentum will die off, if all there is to the GOP is the message, "Vote for us, at least we aren't Democrats"

That slogan will mean nothing in 5-10 years (assuming it means anything even today).

Why do so many people treat this like a cult of personality middle school class president election?

Not enough trained GOP-e political consultants around here?
Some FReepers need to be re-educated how to think big leagues style?

Your points are clear. Thanks.

I don’t care about speed when the cliff is still right there. We need brakes and a steering wheel to turn around.

With more power RINO’s like McConnell will work harder to stop Cruz than they ever would against a Dem.

Then you're an idiot....I suppose stage one cancer and stage four cancer are the same to you too. I mean after all, we're only talking about time here.

So what part of Obola’s agenda will a RINO Senate majority leader oppose?

I hope Cruz defeats them and runs and wins. I hope he helps get more conservatives into the House so we can start getting back on track. Then the RINO’s will have to get in line.
