Jews vote for Liberal causes because they suffer from the disease of blind Liberalism and historically have always welcomed CHANGE, progress, justice and diversity. Who would have known that these factors would get completely out of control?
Jews as the underdog throughout history forced them into a position where they always sought change, usually via some kind of radical or revolutionary movement. From Socialism, Communism, women's suffrage, Worker's rights, civil rights, women's rights and anti-war movements, they've always focused on changing a status quo because JEWS ARE NEVER SATISFIED with the current state of affairs.They always dream of improving something or some group (other than their own, for example, in Israel too).
They wanted to improve their standing in every nation they resided in. Can you blame them? Unfortunately almost all of these waves of change that they participated in backfired on them.
I do not understand, why such an ancient and persecuted people like the Jews still CLING to causes that do not help them.
In the Bible, it states that the Hebrews were (are) a “stiff-necked” people, (stubborn). It is my challenge to twist those stiff necks into leather necks. I am not giving up, it is a lifetime battle.
In one political sense, Jews are no different from Gentiles: just as liberal-churched (ELCA, PCUSA, UMC, Episcopal) and non-churched Gentiles tend to be Democrats/Greens, while small-o orthodox-churched (LCMS, ARP, SBC, AOG, traditional Catholics) Gentiles tend to be Republicans/Libertarians, Reform, Reconstructionist, and non-synagogue Jews tend to be Democrats/Greens, while Orthodox and Conservative-synagogue Jews tend to be Republicans/Libertarians.
A second point is that the bulk of Jews who emigrated to America in the early 20th century were already socialists, and they came here to escape persecution from culturally-conservative totalitarians, which is how conservatives are often perceived today by non-conservatives--so being an American Jew and supporting Ted Cruz is thought of as the 21st century equivalent of being a Ukrainian Jew and supporting the Tsar a hundred years ago.
Finally, there is one aspect of the American Jewish experience that is unique. For Gentile ancestors, America was the "promised land" to which they came, and which was their destination, but American Jews have a "promised land," Israel, and those with the future-looking, religiously motivated, entrepreneurial spirit become Israelis, leaving behind what becomes a greater percentage of American Jews being more European-socialist, meaning Democrats.
The net effect of all these movements (women's rights, black rights, gay rights, etc) is to divide the country into innumerable little factions.
Could it be that this is the objective? That they feel more comfortable as a little group in a country of little groups, then as a little group in a country which is unified, but where the dominant group is not one they feel like they can align with?
If they were not persecuted, they would no longer be Jews.
Think about it. The worst enemy of Judaism is assimilation, becoming so accepted that intermarriage causes the Jews to disappear as a distinct people (as is happening now in the US, with the intermarriage rate among non-Orthodox Jews being 71 percent, 58% overall).
Somebody who wanted Jews to persist as a distinct people would work hard to increase hostility and exclusion from the surrounding population.

Also as a politically conservative Jew, I have a few ideas too. One is herd mentality. It’s also true in the Latino and black families I know as well, but bitterly true in Jewish families including my own (extended). Your fellow Jews from friends to family members will be VICIOUS to keep you on the plantation. Verbally skilled and full of sarcasm and bite, these people will heap scorn upon those who stray from voting lib, and encourage others to mock and insult the one who dares to think for himself as well. It is difficult to be a family member who isn’t liberal. I know this all too well. You become more tolerated than accepted at gatherings.
People don’t like to be ostracized from their friends and family. Mocking works. Low info Jewish voters, most of them, will just slide right into the “correct” beliefs, like “choice” even while not fully understanding what they are “supporting.”
Also, Jews seem to strive to be “cool” and accepted. Possibly from being “different” as children, they want to be in the popular crowd. They tend to fall for common wisdom quicker if famous people feel that way.
Liberalism is not Judaism. Conservatism and adherence to Gd’s law, as the Constitution descends from (as good as mortals can achieve), is Judaism. Our founders, especially Jefferson, were judeophiles.
It takes several loud and popular Jews in public showing the rest how life would be better the freedom way to have any impact. There aren’t many doing it. One is Dennis Prager and he is beloved among those who dare to listen.

The Jewish soul is programmed to "repair the world in the Kingdom of the A-mighty." The nations of the world are mired in error and idolatry. The true Jewish mission is to "compel" (in the words of Maimonides) the nations to observe the Seven Laws of the Sons of Noah. This is the one and only legitimate way Jews are supposed to express their Divinely-ordained dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, after centuries of being massacred for trying to convert chrstians or moslems they have adopted the eighteenth century European "enlightenment" ideology of Voltaire with a vengeance, making it the "Jewish" ideology.

Jews may have tried to change all the nations they lived in (which is their job, as stated above), but I don't think they were spreading the philosophy of Voltaire or Marx in either the ancient world or the Middle Ages.

Am I short sighted when I see a ever expanding government in the United States, dictating, regulating, spying on Americans without a warrant, attacking Americans who do not have the same political views as the current administration does, e.g. IRS, this alone should scare the hell out of Jews, since it was an out of control government in Germany that murdered their kindred!
I simply do not understand the Jewish support for larger, intrusive, secret, punishing, and dictatorial government under Obama?
