Good point about Palin waiting too long to announce she was not running.
Palin — the mega talented heart-breaker that she is — made two giant mistakes on the national stage. She failed to take five minutes to prepare for the Katie Cupcakes interview and failed to complete her term as governor. Those mistakes killed her. She energized the crowds and the McCain campaign — and then squandered it all away. Such a shame.

Resigning as governor was not a mistake...she had no choice with Pete Rouse’s Alaska wrecking crew effectively bankrupting her and her family, as well as her staffers. It was a brilliant move, but went for naught when she decided to not run for the Presidency (for whatever reason).
Ya and need to read how they were almost 1/2 mil in debt defending themselves from frivolous lawsuits, you and I may have taken a powder too. The Couric Interview? It was more like a back stage ambush from the film footage I saw. If Sarah knew it was coming I'll agree with you. At a bare mininum she should have taken 10 minutes to decompress as if my memory was correct, she got off stage after a long day and all it's effects..,

I don't blame her one bit for resigning, it was the honorable thing to do under the circumstances. She was compelled to respond to the lawsuits and was taken away from devoting the proper time and attention to the office of governor.
