It sounds like he is apologizing for being about to lose.
Would you give money to a candidate that admits 47% of the vote is going to his opponent no matter what!?
What are the odds that Romney can get 94% or the remaining 53%? Pretty low.
Romney should have figured out how to reach some of the 47%, but instead he wrote them off. If he showed them a path to get the economy going and get them off of the public dole, he’d have a chance to reach some of those people. But instead he writes them off.
Didn’t you say you’re not voting for him? If so, what do you care?
That’s the only downside I see...in the statements he made on tape. Verbally casting aside the 47% as unreachable is a mistake, even if it’s true. The MSM will hammer him, but they would have hammered him no matter what with whatever they could get.
I’ll be on the Government dole once my reserve retirement kicks in, but I don’t think he was talking about me.
If Romney can pivot on this and make the case that anybody who wants work should be a Romney voter, then this could help him. Hell, I haven’t been at all energized by anything he’s done outside of this “leak”.
Perhaps there’s worse to come, but I don’t think this is fatal.
