Surprise: Deaniacs Want GW to Win in 2004, so Kerry Does Not Run in 2008
powerlineblog.com ^ | Post Dean-departure | various Deaniac posters

Some surprising comments by Deaniacs following Dean's withdrawal from the race are compiled and posted HERE. For example:

---------------------------------

Thank you and Good Night!

Vote BUSH in 04 and then Dean has a chance to run again in 08.

I would also like to say that if Kerry wins the nomination, I will not be voting for him in the general election. I think he is one of the most corrupt politicians ever. He makes my skin crawl.

BTW, I just read the Washington Times article now posted on Drudge about how Bush's supporters may sit it out.

A certain percentage of the hard-right "evangelical" vote makes this petulant threat EVERY election cycle because they haven't gotten 100% of their theocratic desires made the law of the land. Then in November they vote GOP anyway.

Yes the "evangelical" right make this threat, but now it is also the "fiscal" right as well. As much as I opposed protest votes in my past, I am beginning to see the light in how they can be useful.

If Gore was elected instead of Bush, we would at least have a chance to elect someone decent. Of course that is expecting too much of the primary voter, they would probably select Jeb.

How we Republicans let GW Bush get the nomination in 2000 is beyond me. Everyone pretty much gave up before it even began because he had all the pre-primary endorsements and cash caches. So he had John "the Manchurian Candidate" McCain as token opposition.

I hope this sad affair, and the Dean spectacular of this year, shows the folly of selecting a candidate based on cash in December. Are there any Reagan Republicans left in the world to go at it in 2008?

Does anyone remember the Bushies are the natural enemies of the Reaganites in Republican politics. It was George the First that coined "voodoo" economics, and basically called RR an extremist. From what I see, number 2 looks to be a branch off the same Bush.

Seems that every Democrat wants Bush to win in '04 except for Kerry.

Every conspiracy theory starts with "...Hillary, Dean, Gore wants Bush to win in '04 so they can springboard to the Presidency..."

I don't buy this sort of political conspiracy theories. Looks to me like people have been reading too many Dick Morris columns.
