Don't use students to abuse elections

I cannot at this time reveal what these are until I fully discuss the issues with the attorney general and the GOP attorney, but I can assure you the issues have been determined to have merit. The Secretary of State and the GOP wants to move it forward.

What this will do if we are successful is to challenge all student affidavits and determine legal residence in New Hampshire or in their home state and if found to be invalid, will be part of a legal case that hopefully bury the "improper tactics" of the Democratic Party in New Hampshire. Also, if some ballots are found to be fraudulent in Durham, this could open up the possibility of invalidation of all student ballots and a recount for the whole district. The residents of Durham are not at fault here; this is clearly a "dirty" political matter, and I appreciate all that I, as a candidate, recognize you have done for my campaign.

I have no problem with allowing people to register to vote on election day, but to establish residency on the same day is too much. Anyone who has already been a resident of the area should be allowed to register to vote on election day, but if no legal residence has been established prior to election day, then those people should not be allowed to register on election day.

This is not the only issue in the guest column published in Foster's Daily Democrat; there seems to be irregularities in the information given to students registering to vote.

perhaps what we need is a federal standard for pre-registering to vote.

1. You must register 30+ days in advance.
2. You must provide legal ( ANY us gov entity issue id) photo id.
3. each state must have a central voter registration database. (no multicounty registering)
