165 Broward precincts lacked GOP staff, review finds

Broward County Elections Supervisor Miriam Oliphant failed to comply with a state directive to use poll workers from different political parties at each precinct during the September primary.

Registered Democrats held all jobs as poll clerks and inspectors at more than one-fifth of Broward's 750-plus precincts on Sept. 10, according to a review of Oliphant's records by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Oliphant disputed the need for political diversity when Republican leaders raised concerns before the primary. But the state Division of Elections, in a memo written the week before the primary, told her the law required it and she promised to comply.

On Election Day, 165 precincts were run exclusively by Democrats, crisscrossing the county from heavily minority areas to condominium complexes. Only six had all-Republican staffs.

County Republican leader George LeMieux blasted Oliphant for breaking her promise and said he wanted assurances there would not be a repeat in the Nov. 5 election.

Oliphant is a pathetic demo hack. She is a black woman so like many situations she is untouchable even if she is totally incompatant. The local black organizations stand behind her and say they will raise cain if she is fired as she should be.
Oliphant failed to even attend most of the state and federal training sessions for election supervisors in the state. Her poll workers were poorly trained or prepared for the job. If it were anyone other then a black woman she would be sacked and sent to be a clerk at McDonalds where she belongs.
A double standard here like many other situations yes. If you don't think quotas are hurting this country you are mistaken, whatever happened to the best person for the job?

Is there any legal consequence of not properly staffing the polls? Can the election be declared invalid? From the article, it seams that there are no real consequences. Critical letters will get us no where.

Question: could not Republican staffing and help come from other parts of the country by way of volunteers?

Surely, if there is a critical need; and these elections are critical; we could find help. . . God, do we need our own 'mission program' to fight the corruption of the Democrats?

It's too bad nobody in the media will pick up on this. Imagine if 60 Minutes (not that I would watch) did an unbiased story on this. The lefties who still watch that program would get a dose of reality.

The reality is, this is beyond incompetance; though the Dems surely take advantage to accomodate such. . .and while some of the Dems fraud is making news; we will be hearing tired psychoanalysis of the 'sniper' till long past our voting date. . .
