More than 850 people are suspected of having voted in two states in the 2000 presidential election, including 402 in both New York and Florida, officials said yesterday.
A spokeswoman for the city Board of Elections confirmed it is investigating the allegations of double-voting and has asked the Republican National Committee to provide any information it has. Spokesman Kevin Sheridan said the committee is cooperating and is preparing a list of names it recorded as voting twice.
Preliminary RNC research has uncovered 858 instances of people who appeared to double-vote in various combinations of 11 states. The New York-Florida combination was the largest, with 402.
Theoretically, a person could file an absentee ballot in one state and cast a ballot at a polling place in another state. It is also possible a person might cross a state line to vote a second time or cast a ballot in another person's name.
Double-voting in New York is a felony punishable by up to a year or more in jail.

Double-voting in New York is a felony punishable by up to a year or more in jail. I'll be amazed if a democrat goes to jail for this.

Voter fraud is one of the few crimes in this country that may be committed with complete immunity from prosecution. It is almost impossible to go to jail for stealing votes.

I would love to see an enterprising attorney bring a class action against these criminals and totally bankrupt them. Double voting disenfranchises not only voters in the states involved but in all the states. As the recent election in Florida shows, these double votes were nearly the margin between victory or defeat and the Democrats were driven to distraction by the intervention of the legally constituted US Supreme Court. Sue these b*st*ards into debtors' prison.

Tip of the iceberg!
In another light ....read "Votescam" by the Collier brothers. This is a fabulous story by courageous people of the unverifiability and fraud in computerized voting procedures in Dade County during Reno's regime........ a great, heartbreaking, true story!
If this double voting disturbs you, you will flip out when you read "Votescam". Check out votescam.com!!! THIS is the real huge problem! All elections that involve computerized vote counting are easy to color. (Just like the nightly news on ABC, NBC, and SeeB.S.)

True justice in these cases would be double convictions - one in each state in which these people voted. The beauty of this is that they could not claim double jeopardy because the violations are separate state laws.

And the numbers for those voting in NY and NJ? NY and CT?
NY and VT? NY and NY? I certainly hope that these are
being investigated since it's only a short ride between
these states and it's obvious that NY'ers have not integrity or maybe they think the laws are for the other
guys.

At least this effort is being made to uncover the facts....even if it has taken almost 2 years! Good for whoever would not let go of this and pushed it to this point! My bet is the double voting is much bigger than just about 800 voters - but this is a start.
Double voting, the dead voting, etc - voter fraud - is the only way Dimrats can win many elections now.
They know it.
I like the class action lawsuit - can't some conservative groups get the ball rolling in that direction?????

asked the Republican National Committee to provide any information it has. Spokesman Kevin Sheridan said the committee is cooperating and is preparing a list of names it recorded as voting twice. EXCUSE ME -- why isn't the DNC mentioned??????

har! I like that =)

Betcha it's because the RNC is actually looking into the issue while the demos are running from the story. Gore won the popular vote with stolen votes. What a story!
