The state House of Representatives passed an amended Clean Indoor Air Act bill Thursday that would outlaw smoking in nearly all public buildings, including bars, casinos and restaurants.

The only exception would be fund-raisers at fire, rescue or ambulance company facilities, or fraternal organizations such as Elks clubs. Seventy-five percent of rooms at all Delaware hotels would be designated nonsmoking.

Yep! Slap the smokers in the face with higher taxes, but don't accept them anywhere. Fascism at it's worst.

The nico-Nazis are appalling people with their gross disregard of freedom. The a--holes could have passed a bill that left it up to property owners what the policy would be. But nooo, armed with their junk science and irrational prejudices, they shaft 25% of the population blithely.

My only possible further comments are not suitable for posting.

Delaware recently jumped in the pocket of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Healthcare and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

When a state belongs to the RWJ Foundation, the biggest smoker hater group of all time, the higher the taxes, bans, control and restrictions put upon the smokers, the bigger the grants the state receives.

What with the states being in the red with their budgets, they are chopping off the heads of the smokers in order to get this blood money.

6 months ago, when I put the US map on my site, there were 40 states in their pocket. Today, there are 44. And Delaware was recently picked up.

What does THAT tell anyone!

ahhhhhhh I'm just sick.

Gabz gave us this editorial this morning, and I had to post it here.

"A shining example for the rest of the country??!!

That stink is going to rub off on the rest of us, you watch.

Still, she noted a recent association poll showed overwhelming support by Delaware restaurant owners for a measure that would allow them to accommodate smokers.

I sometimes wonder if the reps and senators ever even ASK normal people what they want.

Joe, I always write to the Representatives. They know how I feel. And I know Gabz worked her butt off trying to fight this. And look what happened. Our own kind turning against us. I see this happening more and more with the Republicans in office.

They are all being bought off. I just know it! Why would they trash 1 out of 4 of their constituents like this!

Here's a question for their polls.

Would you rather allow smokers some accomodations or lose your rights?

Joe, THEY have tunnel vision. They can't see that far ahead!

What they are doing to us today will come back to bite them in the butt later on.

If they will not only allow this to happen but propose it also then they truly ARE RINOs!

RINOS

Exactly. And look how Snowe AND Collins voted against drilling for oil in Alaska. Republicans? HA

In name only, I am afraid.

THEY have tunnel vision.

And the tunnel is as black as the bottom of a coal mine at midnight.
These kinds can't even see the insides of their eyelids..

Joe, we are fighting our butts off, and they just won't listen to us.

They can't balance their budgets without taxing the smoker to high heaven, but they allow us no-where

They scream they want a "smoke free everything," but can't do without our money.

They can't have both! I wish all the smokers would stop buying from the states, and roll their own. Let the states pound sand. Wonder how they would feel then!

Casinos?? Good luck. The only non smoking casino in Vegas WAS 'Silver City Casino' and not too long after they tried it it's doors closed. I say they MUST include all AFL-CIO union halls, and anywhere those communist AFSCME and NEA organizations congregate. Then let's see how far they get.
