BENJAMIN NETANYAHU: At The Post yesterday.

April 10, 2002 -- Israel should have expelled Yasser Arafat more than a year ago and now must "destroy" his regime and clean terrorism out of Palestinian-occupied land, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said yesterday.

Asked what is behind America's Mideast policy, he said, "Saddam Hussein is driving U.S. foreign policy."

Yip, that should be obvious to everyone by now. Yet Dick Cheney said on MTP, a few days after 9-11, that we have Saddam "bottled up." Superficially, this is true. Superficially, he's in the background, right? So why have the US and the UK both threatened Saddam with nuclear weapons in the past month? Does the leadership know something we don't?

Israel really needs Bibi back at the helm....

Yes, they really do. I think somehow he will get back in a position of leadership. At least, I hope he does. If you have not read his book "A Durable Peace" I highly reccomend it. I just started it and his knowledge is impressive.

I will keep an eye peeled for his book- I have been well-impressed from what I have heard via talk radio- his interviews are very impressive, and I really think is what Israel needs now for leadership.

If I hear The president say that they must pull back one more time. That is BS!

I want to hear him say, we stand against the Terrorist.

Actually, Ariel Sharon is driving US policy at the moment. Hussein is merely the beneficiary.

I agree with a lot of the other analysis. But the Israelis will never relinquish the settlements on the West Bank, which continue to expand. And Bibi well knows that. There will be no hope for a Palestinian democracy until there is a pluralistic democracy in Israel.

The Israelis love to talk the talk of democracy, but they have never walked the walk. Our own State Department cites them for human rights abuses of non-Jews in Israel. At least with the Palestinians, there is no question what you are dealing with. They don't pretend to be anything other than what they are.

Bibi is brilliant! I am so proud that the US Senate is having him speak this morning! If this is part of the plan, then bravo.
