Scandal Inside the FBI: Did G-Men Miss the Boat on 9-11?

WASHINGTON -- NewsMax.com has learned that active FBI Special Agent Robert Wright is about to blow the whistle on his superiors for hindering investigations that might have prevented the terrorist attacks of September 11. Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm, scheduled, then postponed, a press conference for Wednesday where Wright, cloaked in anonymity until now, was going to tell the whole story.

The shocking details should be out in a few days.

Wright complains that when he tried to continue and pursue certain terrorist investigations, he met with retaliation from his bosses and from the Justice Department who made it clear that they wanted the probes to go no further.

Prior to putting off the news conference, Judicial Watch said that "based on the evidence, the FBI Special Agent believes that if certain investigations had been allowed to run their course, Osama bin Laden’s network might have been prevented from committing the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 innocents.”

Insiders believe after this full story breaks, Wright’s career will be toast. Only public outrage can save him.

Meanwhile, Judicial Watch, which is representing Wright, is requesting a full independent investigation.

Assisting the law firm in this case is none other than David Schippers — the same Schippers whose quiet, methodical and damning leadership in the Clinton investigation led to the then-president’s impeachment.

"Anything with Mohamed Atta's name on it should send alarm bells blasting."

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., called the hijacker visas "one of the most embarrassing incidents since 9/11" and called for Ridge to testify before Congress on issues involving his office. He noted that a Democratic homeland security proposal had included $25 million to improve computer monitoring of foreign students in the United States.

Daschle is shifting the blame.

This should not have happened -- but in a way, I am glad it did.

I am sure that anyone tempted to slack off will now get a heavy boot rammed where it would do the most good.

We need to get cracking on modernizing our clearing and tracking procedures. Better egg on the face now than another building in flames -- or worse -- later.

FBI TO OPEN OFFICE IN PRAGUE

The CIA is already operating in Prague from offices in the former building of the Czechoslovak Federal Parliament, which also houses the previously Munich based Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty.

Czech PM: Atta considered Prague attack

Someone in the intelligence agencies screwed up big time.

He ordered his attorney general to investigate and urged reform of the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Probably throw more money at it, just like the "reform" of BATF. Both BATF and INS should be disbanded and everyone GS-13 and above prohibited from working for the federal government ever again. Otherwise, whatever organizations take over their legitimate functions (assuming BATF has any) will just be re-infected. That's the way it's generally done in government circles, the organizational names change, but the "civil masters" stay the same.

Exellent thought! But that idea might actually do some good, and we can't have that now, can we?

Congress' lack of interest in investigating our national security agencies, and these same agencies' pernicious inability to scrutinize their own intelligence efforts in the months leading up to the events of September 11th, really concerns me. I hope the media supports this guy. We ALL need to support this guy.

This goes to show that there ARE good people who work in the FBI and other government agencies charged with the task of protecting our Country. Unfortunetely, they are stifled by those whose strings are pulled by the REAL players in the game....

Czech Leader: Atta Plotted Radio Free Europe Attack

It was unclear whether Zeman had turned over new intelligence information yesterday about the meeting between Atta and suspected Iraqi spy Ahmed Khalil Ibrahim Samir Al-Ani, or whether the Czech leader was stating publicly for the first time a hypothesis by his government about the purpose of the encounter.

A senior U.S. intelligence official said the CIA had never been told that a direct connection existed between Atta's meeting with the Iraqi intelligence officer and a conspiracy to attack Radio Free Europe's facility in downtown Prague, which is also the headquarters of Radio Free Iraq. "We assumed there may have been a connection, but the Czechs never told us what is now being said," the intelligence official said.

The FBI also was not aware of any information indicating that Atta had specifically discussed a plot against Radio Free Europe, an FBI official said. Atta was the pilot of the first of the two hijacked airliners that crashed into the World Trade Center towers.

Czech officials have previously confirmed that Atta made contact with Al-Ani, but Western intelligence officials have maintained they had no reliable information on what they discussed. But if investigators determine that the two men jointly plotted an attack on the Radio Free Europe-Radio Liberty building, it would represent the clearest evidence so far of an operational link between the Iraqi government of President Saddam Hussein and the terrorist network of Saudi-born militant Osama bin Laden.

The Czech Republic deports Al-Ani when the threats are made on attacking the building where the CIA are located and the CIA said no info was given and the FBI doesn't know. April 2001, timeline. B.S. This FBI agent needs to go foward.

Yet more non-news. Nothing will every be done, nobody will ever see any punishment. This is all just news to make them look like they're doing something. I have no faith in government agencies, as they are all part of the great one world machine. If the government really cared about America, and wanted a truly free nation for the citizens of this country, our sovereignty would NEVER be up for sale, which is what Clinton did with the Chinese, and what Bush has now done with Mexico.

IMHO, the higher ups in the FBI and CIA were told prior to 9-11 to hold off on any investigation of Al Qaida, the Saudis, etc. That's why Agent Wright ran into the problem he describes.

The administration knew that something big was coming from Al Qaida. They had been warned by several foreign intelligence agencies, and undoubtedly had their own sources. The 9-11 attack was allowed to happen to galvanize the public into backing a war in Afghanistan to clean out the Taliban and AlQaida. And to allow a more malleable government to be installed that would agree to the building of a pipeline across Afghanistan.

Compelling material. Great work at keeping track of what has been effectively kept out of the mainstream press.
