I wonder how many people understand that Pelosi makes Hillary look like kindness itseslf when it comes to politics? This woman is well known in SF/Sac for conducting her biz outside of the camera glare - which is what makes her more dangerous than Hillary.

There is no doubt that she is pulling the strings that animate Dastardly Daschle and his recent attacks. Her style (we've seen it from insisde) is to use the most poisonous among her circle (waxman as prime example) to spew her venom.

Be aware!

Stupid Saint Louisans keep voting for this socialist Rat time and time again.

Blame the corrupt judges who kept the polling places open in the last two elections, and the rampant voter fraud. Gephardt's opponent (can't remember his name) was cheated twice out of victory.

Oh, the more the merrier! This is going to be FUN, FUN, FUN.

He is DYING to be speaker; so he'll leave if the house doesn't go to him? I say we grant his wish.

But then what would he do? Where would he live? With his mother?

It would be wonderful if Dick resigned his post, then ran for President. I assume he'd have to give up his House seat to run for President, too. Buh-bye!

Pelosi sounds like she'd be worse than Dick, though, if that's possible.

I'm not saying this is necessarily a good thing (although in this case, it brings me great comfort) - in this television age, a man who looks like this will never be elected POTUS. He can be a senator. He can be a representative. He can be a mayor - but absent voter fraud in proportions we have never imagined, this man will never be elected President. Nobody wants to look at this face for four years:

If Gephardt retires in Jan 2003 at the very height of his triumph on the path to guaranteed Speakership thanks to Bush's planned signature of the Democrat Incumbent Protection Act, it means that he seriously believes he can beat Algore in the race for the Democrap presidential nomination, which at this point in time is Gore's to lose. He would be wiser to wait until 2008 when he will have four years as Speaker of the House behind him and an "open-seat" race for the Presidency after Bush is term-limited out. It will be very interesting if radical liberal Nancy Pelosi wins the race for House Minority Leader in 2003 because then we will have a radical feminist woman as the Speaker of the House beginning in January 2005 who is only two heartbeats away from the Presidency of the United States!

The only good side to a Gephardt retirement from Congress is that Federer will probably pick up his seat in the 2003 Special Election. Then again, he might bite the dust with a lot of other good Republicans in Congress when the unconstitutional provisions of the Democrat Incumbent Protection Act take effect after the 2002 Elections.

At this point I am predicting that the GOP captures control of both Houses of Congress in the 2002 elections gaining about 10 seats in the House and about 2 in the Senate. Then in 2004, the Democraps will retake both Houses as they will be favored to do under the Democrat Incumbent Protection Act and will retain control of Congress for the forseeable future. I also predict that Gore will get his chance to face Bush in the 2004 Presidential contest and that Bush will beat him by a slightly more convincing margin than last time (assuming he puts more effort into winning Florida and less effort into winning California).

Anyone else care to make any predictions as to the 2002 or 2004 elections.

It says he'll resign from his leadership post, not his House seat. He'll probably run for the House and Presidential seats at the same time. That's exactly what Lieberman did.

Or the face of The Highly Excitable Patrick Kennedy. He's Dick's butt boy and has told people he's going where Gephardt goes!

Defeat them both!

Keep us posted on this new state law. Sounds like the law was designed to aim at Da$$hole!

Maybe he will be insane enough to still run President and lose his senate job in 2004! That would be an easy out for him. He could say he tried. I have a feeling by 2004 only dead cows will vote for him!

House Democrats expect that current minority leader Dick Gephardt will resign from the leadership post if his party fails, as expected, to win back the house from the Republicans.

Right. And Alec Baldwin has a villa in France.
