Mistress Carrie Comments on the WAR.

Some background:
WAAF is the most listened Rock Station in Boston. Listening to the commentary of the Radio Jocks on it gives a person a "feel" for the political climate in the Boston area. They have various radio personalities, with the Misress Carrie being the most radical and liberal of the bunch. Here are some of her comments...

"...I like to call myself a liberal, afterall you can't call yourself Conservative with bright purple hair..."

"...No one tells me who to vote for, and yes it's true I usually vote Democrat, I generally pick whomever appeals to me on election day..."

"...I am sick and tired of all these crazy crybabies who are for the rights of the terrorists and not for our soldiers..."

"...hey, in case you forgotten why you put that flag on your beemer, it';s because Americans are getting killed..."

"...this is not about improving Bush ratings..."

"...we are fighting for our lives and I am sick and tired of the Ted Kennedys of the world whining about the rights of those scum that want us killed..."

"...hey, did you see the front page of the Harold today? Tat was one of our guys under that flag..."

"...people have died, and more will be dying. It's about time that those bleeding hearts get with the program..."

"...excuse me for venting, but I have just had it with these people with such a short memory..."

"...who gives a flying fudge what Britan or the rest of the world thinks..."

Sounds to me like a Republican who's keeping her Democrat label just to seem 'with it'. I don't know of any liberals who hold those same beliefs- only conservatives. Perhaps there is hope for her after all. BTW, I know for a fact there are Republican's with purple hair.

my two daughters have varying shades of hair at any given time, pink, purple, etc. and they lean to the right most of the time.

Why is she a "liberal", and why does she vote Democrat, if she feels like that?

The only explanation I can think of is that she is pro-abortion, and that one issue supersedes everything else. Which is tragic, if you ask me.

Oh, okay. Now I understand. This reeks of a radio publicity stunt!

I think so, pretty much. There are a lot of people out there who won;t vote Republican for similar reason, but in general hold views much more in line with Republican ideas or conservative positions.

But, they love abortion or hate Christians and that blinds them to their own prejudices.

"...I like to call myself a liberal, afterall you can't call yourself Conservative with bright purple hair..."

Wrong. I will never forget the day I walked into my hotel room at a gathering of College Republican/YAF types and came face-to-face with my roommate. She had bright--and I mean BRIGHT purple hair, a tongue stud, a spiked dog collar around her neck, and studded leather cuffs on her wrists.

I was wearing GAP khakis, a pink oxford shirt, and Keds at the time. I just about died when I saw her.

Of course, by the end of the conference, we were like long-lost sisters. We spent that whole first night talking until 3 in the morning, and when morning came, I witnessed the most shocking transformation I'd ever seen.

The purple hair turned out to be a wig. She had 5 more neon-colored hair pieces in her suitcase. She took the purple wig off, revealing bleached blond, but reasonably normal-looking hair. She removed all of her studded stuff and body jewelry, and busted out with the most demure, flowery Laura Ashley knee-length dress I'd ever seen. By the time she finished her metamorphosis, she looked more conservative than me. It was truly amazing.

The net effect, I'm afraid, is that Defense Of Abortion Rights has been set up in our country as an alternative (and highly intolerant and puritanical) religion. As long as a person toes the line and adheres to the Defense Of Abortion Rights belief system, they can be a bloodsucking monster but still count on 20-30% of the vote (their co-religionists). Meanwhile someone can be the most decent person on earth but if they do not adhere to the Abortion Rights religion, they are treated as an infidel and scum not worthy of drawing breath.

It's not a healthy situation, for any nation.

I guess this means Kennedy is toast in the next election.....And, of course, Dubya can count on those electoral votes in 2004.

If the GOP wants to p!$$ away potential support, somebody else will just have to step up to the plate to prevent the country from turning into a socialist armpit.

One other reason...she's from MA, and there are not too many admitted conservatives here!Especially when it comes to the media.
