Because The Constitution Still Matters - Freepathon Thread 2
Thread 1 ^ | 3-6-02 | Topaz and harpo11

Donate to Free Republic to help keep the lights on! Do it now!!!

Since the first rebel's yell for America's freedom was heard across this great land, Americans have yearned to keep liberty alive. Today we face numerous challenges to our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We have a choice. One is to sit back and do nothing. The other is as our President George W. Bush said at his Inauguration Speech, to become actively involved as citizens. Make our voices heard. Shout it out loud so that Congress can hear our views.

FReeRepublic gives us that awesome opportunity. So you can sit back and let others Donate and Bump, or you can become involved...truly it feels really good!!!

Good to see that Massachusetts is on a roll tonight. Not all of us are Kennedy-voting liberals.

Two questions:

1. Regarding the time/speed to load threads -- Because each thread loads only the first 50 posts (by default), does it matter how many posts are on it (except to those who have modified the number of posts loaded upon connection)?

2. When donating by credit card, if someone does not write in the state they are donating from in the "Your Comments" box, does the donation automatically go to "Never-Never Land"?

Since Topaz answered the second, I'll take the first. Once the page limit is hit (whether it's 50 or 250 or something in between), it doesn't really matter. Of course, if someone feels it necessary to read everything on a particular thread, then it still gets daunting.

Well as I recall, for a specified period of time, 2nd would keep exact track of each state's donation as posted by BADJOE and then constantly page everyone to egg the thing on. It gets tricky at the end because there is a lag between the time donations come in and when BADJOE gets them posted on the thread. There's not much to it other then pure attention during the designated period and the freaking out at the end.

The winning state would get all or part of the NNL total credited to it's total and by default win the state race.

While it hasn't been a long time since the last States' update, and there hasn't been much movement, I'm not going to be awake much longer, and I wanted fresh numbers out there.
FReepathon State Challenge: (thanks, 2ndMostConservativeBrdMember, for starting this up so many FReepathons ago)

During every FReepathon, we try to keep track of what each state donates. When you make your donation, let BADJOE know what state it's coming from, and when he reports it, it'll get credited to the state or country of your choice.

If someone from New York, Texas and Ohio (the remaining top 5 states without a color), any foreign countries and a deployed serviceman wants to see their state/country in color, sing out. It would look so much better than the bold I have now.

While we're on colors, there's still 1 state on the Sissy Pink list (attention Rhode Island; you are being paged). That means that nobody from Rhode Island has sent a dime in new money yet (either a new donation or an increase in their monthlies). Please end the embarrassment.
