Why not turn the occupied territories into the State of Palestine?

They've basically tried that and all it got them was a Jihad.

What I remember was a pre-Sharon 'discussion' of this idea while Israel was still building 'settlements' in these territories.

After Sharon got in.........well, just watch the news.

Basically, I just buy the notion that the Middle East's problems arise from one source and one source, only (namely; the Palestinians, alone).
