Police are asking for the publics help Monday identifying a man arrested in the Bronx over the weekend who was carrying what investigators say was a small arsenal of weapons.
Investigators say the unidentified man gave them a fake name and address when he was arrested Saturday night. The man is described as being around 35 years of age, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, a full beard, and a slight Eastern European accent.
Police say they spotted him acting suspiciously on a bike in Co-Op City, and that when they approached him bullets fell out of his back pocket.
He was wearing military-type flak jacket, he had a Mach-10 pistol, a .38 caliber revolver - both weapons were fully loaded - he had one pineapple-type hand grenade, two knives, an operable police scanner with earphones, and three explosive cartridges known as crickets, NYPD Deputy Chief Joe Reznick said Sunday.
Charges against the man are pending. Police are asking anyone with information on the man to call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.

I thought this guy was caught in Throngs Neck, but it now says he was caught in Co-Op City, which is a few miles north of Throgs Neck.
THere is a sizeable Kosovar Albanian muslim population in the Bronx. Since this guy had an Eastern European accent, could he be from that community?

Beat it out of him.Yes - what a great idea! The police should be able to beat and torture any information from anyone at any time shouldn't they. After all it's for the children < /sarcasm>

I read about this yesterday in the NY Times; the problem seems to be that they ran his fingerprints and came up empty as well. In other words, no criminal record in this country. But then, he ain't FROM here. And he's not talking.
I say beat it out of him too.

It will absolutely make my day to hear that this guy slipped and fell on his head several hundred times, and is either dead or in a chronic vegetative state.

"Beat it out of him." No need. Offer him a bath in pigs' blood.

Put him in the general populuation at one of the Fed. prisons in NY. He'll squeal like a pig real quick.
To: areafiftyone
Hmmm.. Send him to Gitmo. Lol, he'd probably recognize someone, "Hey, Abdul, it's me, Mohammad!"

I cannot beleive that anyone would think that what is going on in Isreal will not happen here. I, in fact, am suprised that we haven't had guys, with bombs strapped on their ass, blow themselves up in crowded shopping centers yet.

Hate to say it but its only a matter of time.

Since they are tightening up our security in our airports don't be surprised if that doesn't happen next. GOD FORBID!

I was there in December. Before you enter the parks you have to empty everything out of your handbags and knapsacks. You are better off not bringing anything unless you have to. The security is tight going in but the security people are real friendly and patient while you empty everything. I had no problems at all and you feel alot safer that way. They are real quick too. No waiting forever like in the airports.
