News Desk adds: Sources said the video tape received by the US Consulate a few days ago showed Pearl interviewing some one when an unidentified person pulled his head back from the hair and severed his head with a knife. The consulate was trying to establish veracity of the tape for the last few days. at the end if this story..HERE
In my mind's eye I see Ali Babba standing with his arms crossed over his chest & an Ali Babba smile on his face. His sword is hanging by his side dripping with blood. Looking closely, you will see him holding a severed head (no one in particular--that would be even more inappropriate than my imagination is tonight).

BTW---as has been mentioned. The circumstances of his death seems to have been spiked. (except by FOX). I guess we don't need to know such insignificant details.
During the cold war, Islamic Militants captured a Soviet diplomat and held him for ransom, in exchange for money and the release of some prisoners somewhere. In response, the Soviets picked up a handful of Islamic men at random off the street, castrated them, and sent them back to their colleagues with the message "Give us back our diplomat, and don't try anything like this again." The Soviets won that exchange.

It's understandable to feel disgusted, but NEVER give up. I can't say I'm always feeling secure or confident since Sept 11th's horror...but I know when/if AMERICANS (left and of course RIGHT) are threatened WE will FIGHT for our SURVIVAL.
Alot of really lefty liberals I know were more hawkish than me (if thats possible) after Sept 11th....
Of course no one can keep up that level of anger an fury and function...so we all have picked up on our lives, maybe a little more cautious and skittish.
I'm sometimes afraid of what might be done next...but I have to believe that if it comes down to US or THEM (the fn islamic terrorists) It's gonna be THEM...and the LEFT will shoot to save their own sorry lives, I believe this - but I am not counting on any of them.
You sure put that shot in the 10-ring. The events that detail our repeated clash with the Muslim world are rarely mentioned, even in most college history courses.
In October, 732, Charles Martel met Abd-er-Rahman outside of Tours and defeated and slew him in a battle (the Battle of Poitiers). This must remain one of the great events in the history of the world, as the outcome of the battle would determine whether Christian Civilization should continue or Islam prevail throughout Europe. Why, it's almost embarrassing to speak of such brutality in today's politically-correct world. Never mind the minor details that Western Civilization hung in the balance and prevailed because someone opened up the big can of whoop-ass.
In 1683, another nearly unheard-of battle took place. At the Seige of Vienna, the Polish warrior-king Jan III Sobieski led his army and joined the Austrian and German forces opposing the invading Turks. Again, Western Civilization was saved, and less than 100 years before a new country, "The United States of America" was born.
Early 20th century: General Pershing is said to have dealt harshly - but effectively - with the Islamic fanatics. He might've sewed 'em up in pigskins for burial, poured pig guts over them, dipped execution bullets in pig fat, all those nasty things. Paraphrased - History has largely bypassed the Muslim attacks on and invasions of Europe that LASTED from the SEVENTH to the TWENTIETH CENTURIES but has remained transfixed on the (Catholic) lead Crusades to the Holy Land that lasted only from the the ELEVENTH to the THIRTEENTH century .
Muslims have one hell of a lot of nerve carrying on the way they do towards the "Christian" Crusades. I'll stop there, INfact while reading this book, I had to stop a few times. The atrocities that are docummented are horrific. A beheading is minor compared to other things these folks LIKED doing to the enemy - like slicing them open while alive and eating organs - all while the person was still barely alive. It's so sickening. All of it is pure evil.
2. Pearl and his french wife practiced "objective" journalism. I wonder if she is making any value judgments now.
I've been saying the same thing. It's the left (and some socialists on the right side too) who gave these madmen so much power.
When she is old enough to understand, she will be proud of her father.
His life, and gruesome death, will be an inspiration to her.
