OPERATION OLD GLORY Saturday, February 16th at 11:00 am Hanover High School Auditorium (NH)

Americans for Victory--a non-profit, non-partisan, citizens group, located in the Upper Valley--is pleased to announce that at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2002, in the Hanover High School auditorium, we will present the Hanover schools with over one hundred American flags to be displayed in classrooms. In cooperation with the principals of the Dresden School District and in accord with New Hampshire law (NH Revised Statue : Section 189:17-a), we will install the flags in classrooms that do not currently fly them.

The day will feature several speakers and performers.

Senator Bob Smith and Congressman Charlie Bass are confirmed, as are all of the major party gubernatorial candidates and Ray Burton from the Executive Council.

The event will present an opportunity for a number of local organizations (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, The Norwich University Color Guard, the Hanover High School Band,VFW, etc.) to participate in the ceremonies and the actual installation.

The event will feature special musical guest, Lt. Colonel Gary Cyr who will perform his Musical Tribute to the Flag!

The flags and the event are being paid for by local citizens, businesses, and community organizations. Any remaining monies will be used for the same purposes in other Upper Valley school districts.

We would like to invite everyone in the Upper Valley community to participate and/or attend the event. Volunteers, contributors, and new members are all welcome. For further information please contact Orrin C. Judd at orrin@brothersjudd.zzn.com or Marisa Kraus at sandk@sover.net

Long May it Wave, Orrin C. Judd Chairman, Americans for Victory

Who'd have thought there would be a day when all classrooms didn't already have a flag in them?

Thanks for brightening up my morning with some great news.

I wonder when this statute was revised. Post-911?

Our lieutenant governor tried to do this for New York a few years ago. Capitalizing on her married name, Betsy Ross. But it never happened.
