Let me see if I am reading this correctly. Because we are an affluent nation, we are supposed to be guilt-ridden to toss our tax dollars at third-world countries in an effort to up-grade their standard of living? Check out foreign aid -- we already do that. Unfortunately, our foreign aid more often supports the dictatorships and is never handed down.
When the dictatorial governments of these countries become concerned enough for their starving populations, let them come to us for aid -- aid that will be contingent upon a change in government policies and the promotion of capitalism.
With the fall of apartheid in several African nations, a black military rule has risen to murder white land-owners and take over the land. Are we expected to step into the middle of this when the new, criminal leaders fail to establish a governance that is capable of feeding their criminal followers? Or should we send food and aid so that they can continue their acts of murder without being delayed by tilling and harvesting the land they have murdered to obtain?
Where do these countries fit into someone's noble idea of a global society?

I have always been opposed to the UN system. Buchanan has gotten wierd since he hopped on the Reform Party weagon with a bunch of oddballs.
I loved Buchanan when he was on Crossfire and I liked him in 1992 too, when he ran for President.

Yes, I would like to know what the world thinks American citizens will gain from globalization. This punk comes from the arm pit of the world, what has he got to lose with globalization? Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
They can stuff it.

I agree with Buchanan that we need to secure the borders and send the illegals home. We should also have immersion courses for legal immigrants.

Man, you're not talking to someone uniformed. I believe you've assumed a mistaken impression.
Don't forget, I knew the implications of what your little ommission earlier meant. Maybe you need to read up on Agenda 21 since you failed to mention that most pertinent detail!
Don't talk down to me...

did I talk down to you? I'm sorry if I did.

Tell those UN boys I'm willing to die for my country and am not offended at the idea of killing the brain dead that they may send to attack here.
Hey Kofi Annan
F@#k Y)@ !!!

It sounded like you were. I'm fully aware of many of the "buzz words" applied by the UN.
I don't remember asking for anyone to explain to me what "civil society" meant either.
You might note that there is a fair amount of sarcasm in my original reply 16.
