I'm not generally a conspiracy theorist but there do seem to be some anomalies. His nurse testified that he could not lift his arms above his head yet he is supposed to have tied electrical cord above his head and hung himself. In addition, a second autopsy ordered by his son showed he had been murdered.
The reasoning behind the murder theory is that he had some information the allies would not want made public. The western allies had said for some time they would support his release if the USSR would. Apparently the USSR in 1987 made some noises towards supporting his release.
I don't really have an opinion towards it myself, but it is possible that it could have happened.

It seems a bit silly to fine him to me since when I visited Dachau I was told by the tour guide that the gas chambers were not ever used.
I didn't know Aryan nations did tours!
I also thought the current revisionist BS was that they were used for delousing.
Having spoken to survivors, I can tell you that they were used about 3 times daily.
Then again, his defense counsel saying that "had paid attention in his history lessons and knew there was a Holocaust" sounds a bit like "I know I was told that there was a Holocaust but I don't believe it" so maybe he should have been fined.
I don't support Germnay's laws here. It makes Holocaust Denyers into martyrs instead of the scum they are.

You don't fine people for differing opinions, no matter how ridiculous.I wholeheartedly agree. There is no such thing as 'freedom of speech' in Germany, and I find that both disgusting and frightening.

Germany...a bunch of socialist PC thought policeDitto.

Let me ask the question again. Did your tour guide or "tour guide" state like Hess' young relative that the Americans built the facility to "scare tourists"?
Your post #1 seemed to overlook this incredible statement.
Just curious.

I think he was simply crazy. So delusional that he thought he could go to England and put an end to the war.
Hitler who had political insite rivaling Bill Clinton's must have know there was no political profit in sending Hess over there.

I studied the History of Jews in the Third Reich at UCLA, and the professor was one of the most renowned Holocaust scholars. He said that gas chambers were never used at DACHAU.

That is what the tour guide told me when I visited the place too.

One of the American Left's fondest dreams is the enactment of "hate speech" laws here. I used to think the First Amendment was an unsurmountable obstacle for them, but now I believe that changing demographics may so alter the political climate and the judiciary that I may live to see the death of free speech.

Thats funny Hitler said that in the event they actually do win against Britain( not bloody likely by the time Hess parachuted in) he'd have Hess shot immediatedly for the stupid stunt of parachuting into Britain.

I heard the same story. It was swept under the rug in Germany like Vince Foster's "suicide" in the United States. Ol' Rudy had a screw or two loose, one reason why they were never able to convict him of anything big. Even comparing his role in the infamous gang to those like Albert Spier (who got out in the 1950's) indicates there was something fishy about his long incarceration or something Rudy knew that shouldn't be told. One thing for certain-- it cost a lot to keep him as the only jailbird in Spandau for so many years when he could have been sent somewhere else (risking the leak of whatever information he was protecting).

Maybe this guy wishes he lived in a free country where he could actually speak. How can one study history if its not allowed to be said?

It is against the law to "deny" or openly question the events surrounding the Holocaust in most of Europe.
There was a case a few years ago, where a Dr. Frederick Toben of Australia, posted some anti-Holocaust information on his website, (which originates in Australia.)
Toben went to Germany to attend a conference, and was arrested.
Why? Because his australian website allegedly "denied the Holocaust."
He spent 18 months in jail, I think.
Hess was murdered because he has quite probably going to be released.
This would have been an embarrasement to the Brits, especially if he disclosed any wartime information.
Here is a link to the Hess website.
Rudolph Hess Website The site includes some autopsy photos and reports.

I have no idea whether there's any truth to the neo-Nazis' claims that Hess was murdered. I've never investigated the circumstances of his death.

We're all very sorry for your loss. Please accept our condolences.

We can make fun and criticize Germany for their outlawing of free speech but we have a more subtle approach. We call it hate crime legislation. This in combination with political correctness pretty well controls any public outbursts. It will not be too long, probably, when any individual writing on the internet will be questioned by the authorities if he gets too carried away with anti-government rhetoric.

This would have been an embarrasement to the Brits, especially if he disclosed any wartime information. Hess' apparently solo escapade was not the only contact with the Brits by Germans trying to end the war. The bona-fide anti-Nazi resistance was doing so for years, including using the diplomatic channels of the Vatican (and I think Norway). A lot of lives were lost on all sides in that war, so it would be interesting to see their archives opened and the reasons/assessments for spurning initiatives to end that bloody war . . .
