Psalm 10
1
Why, O LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2
In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.
3
He boasts of the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD.
4
In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
5
His ways are always prosperous; he is haughty and your laws are far from him; he sneers at all his enemies.
6
He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me; I'll always be happy and never have trouble."
7
His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue.
8
He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent, watching in secret for his victims.
9
He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
10
His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength.
11
He says to himself, "God has forgotten; he covers his face and never sees."
12
Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.
13
Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"?
14
But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
15
Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out.
16
The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land.
17
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
18
defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for this day and for Your blessings towards us. Lord, we are so blessed! You have given us the opportunity to live in a country where we are free. Free to worship You. Free to share Your Word with others. Free to exalt You openly. And, yet, we so rarely take full advantage of that freedom. Lord, I pray that Americans will stop and pause and see from whence their blessings come, and would not take them for granted. For if we take them for granted, we could one day lose them and that would be sad indeed.

Father, I pray for President Bush. The venom against him by certain elements in our society is strong. They would like to see him fail, no matter what it would do to this nation. They refuse to recognize his legitimacy as President and slander his name continually. But, blessed are we when men curse us and revile us for Your name's sake. And, it is certainly the stands he has taken as a Christian that many of them are upset about. And, it is certainly Your truth that they reject. So, Lord, I pray that You would confound his enemies, and Your enemies. I pray that You would give him victory over them and carry him through, not allowing him to stumble or fall. Protect him, Lord, for great evil surrounds him. And give him Your wisdom and strength to do what is right.

I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and America, and may both peoples be blessed with spiritual awakening and revival by Your sweet Holy Spirit. For it is in the precious and holy name of my wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that I pray, Amen.

Need prayer for my cousin who has been in excruciating pain for around 5 months. Several doctors have been unable to diagnose her pain (which has progressively grown worse)and heavy narcotics aren't able to touch the pain. Her doctor was supposed to fill out paperwork to send her to Cleveland Clinic but has drug his feet and has done nothing. She is truly at the end of her rope physically, spiritually, and emotionally. PLEASE PRAY FOR HER. Thank you, Dittojed2

PERFECT TRUST

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust,
My loving God, in thee;
Unwavering faith that never doubts
Thou chooses best for me!

Best, though my plans be all upset;
Best, though the way be rough;
Best, though my earthly store be scant;
In Thee I have enough.

Best, though my health and strength be gone,
Though weary days be mine,
Shut out from much that others have;
Not my will, Lord, but Thine!

And even though disappointments come,
They, too, are best for me,
To wean me from this changing world,
And lead me nearer Thee.

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust
That looks away from all;
That sees thy hand in everything,
In great events or small.

That hears Thy voice
- A Father's voice -
Directing for the best.
Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust,
A heart with Thee at rest.

Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

We thank You, our God, that Your mercies are new unto us every morning, and though we do not deserve Your goodness, You do abundantly provide for all our wants of body and soul. We pray that we may always acknowledge Your merciful goodness toward us, giving thanks for all Your benefits, and serving You in willing obedience.

Father, our eyes wait upon You to turn the very heart of America back toward You. We have wandered off the path You have set before us, and we are lost without Your light to show us the way back. Forgive us of the sins of our nation, Merciful Lord, for we have all contributed in one way or another. Just as You mourned over Jerusalem, surely You must mourn over this country that was established through Your faith, Your wisdom, and Your laws. How You must grieve over this nation that will no longer allow Your Ten Commandments to be displayed in government buildings! Father, we mourn these losses with You, and we pray for You to turn the tide of public opinion against justices and legislators who persist in allowing the devil to achieve a temporary victory in these decisions.

Gracious God, You who delight in doing the impossible, please give us teachers who will instruct the children of this nation regarding the true and intended meaning of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Please give us media personnel who will be truth seekers and not editorialists. Please grant us legislators who will truly seek to do what is right for America, rather than fulfilling their lusts for power. We ask You for justices and judges who will weigh laws and rule according to the Constitution, rather than case law or their own biases. Release us from the current philosophy that the Constitution should be a "living, breathing document," for this is the same philosophy that seeks to modify Your Word according to convenience rather than truth. Please supply us with a new corps of clergymen who will return to the truth of Your Word, and who will be willing to stand in the pulpit and denounce evil. O Lord, fill America with a new generation of mothers who delight in their roles, who honor the lives of the unborn, and who seek to raise healthy, disciplined children. Give us fathers who understand the importance of their involvement in their children’s lives, who provide for the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of all those in their households. We pray for entertainers who delight in providing wholesome, quality entertainment, and who will eliminate vulgarities and innuendo so that families can enjoy programs and films together. And please give us a work force willing to give an honest day’s labor for an honest day’s pay. Instill in us enough pride once again that we only accept handouts and welfare as a very last resort. Fill each of us with a sense of responsibility for our own actions and choices. Teach us once again how to handle our conflicts through open communication rather than through lawsuits. Father, how great is our need for healing! How we long for You to perform a good work in us!

Surround our President with Your protection, Great God, and bless and protect the living seed of Your Word sown in his heart. Let Your seed produce in him the plenteous fruits of righteousness, and let his every action be pleasing in Your sight. Make him to know joy and gladness. Help him to truly delight in doing Your will in this role in which You have placed him. Give him all manner of wisdom and understanding and let his greatest desire be to please You. For You, O God, are a shield for him. You are his glory and the lifter of his head.

Be our vision and our wisdom for a new America, Mighty God. Help each of us to be a part of the solution, and let us honor You once again. May we walk in a manner worthy of You, our God, and may we be fruitful in every good work. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer need. She has been added to my prayer list, and her doctors, too.

Holy Spirit! hear us; help us while we sing;
Breathe into the music of the praise we bring.
Holy Spirit! prompt us when we kneel to pray;
Nearer come and teach us what we ought to say.

Holy Spirit! help us daily by Thy might,
What is wrong to conquer and to choose the right.
Holy Spirit! hear us, help us while we sing;
Breathe into the music of the praise we bring.

Joining you in prayer for our President and those he trusts to advise him.

Praying this evening for our President, and praying for your cousin, DittoJed, that the Lord would ease her pain, and comfort her.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11: 28-29

Dear Lord, oh how we thank you for your great love for us. And your truths which prove to be true. We are heirs to Your kingdom, Son’s and daughters of the Most High and what joy there is found there. Oh how I thank you. Father guide our president and show him clearly the way in which you have planned for him to go. Teach him Your truths and give him a passion and desire for Your word. Protect him Lord from those who wish to harm him. May his greatest desire be to seek you first. And may this nation be blessed. Father I pray for those who are hurting and in pain Father you are the great physician and nothing is too hard for you. And may we give glory and honor due to you. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

in all his thoughts there is no room for God

Father, I pray today for a renewing of your presence and your spirit in my life. There are too many distractions in my life that distract my mind from your plan and your will. Please help me today to live more fully for you.

I ask this, too, for President Bush and his staff. I cannot imagine the tremendous pressure and time constraints they are under, and I pray that each day they will have time to rest and refresh in your presence. I pray that you will guard them from any distractions that will keep them from walking each day in your presence. As they follow your guidance, I ask that your wisdom and annointing will pour out upon them. Let them be the brave, wise leaders we need in these uncertain times. Finally I ask that you will continue to protect them, and our nation, from all plans for attack.

I remember, too, the upcoming elections and ask that your chosen will find both resources and blessing greater than they need. Expose the plans and motives of the evil ones either in our running for office. I pray, dear Lord, that those both in and out of the Christian community will be so disgusted with corrpution and selfish ambition that they will cry out and elect your chosen.

My faith and trust are in your most capable hands. In the name of your precious son, Jesus, Amen
