Nice substantive post. Have you read the book? Are there any statistics you disagree with and have other facts to dispute them? Perhaps you could argue against some of the ideas in the book?
Then again, why bother - that would require thought. Regards.

Ok, I think that America has always been the melting pot. Pat Buchanan just points to the continuation of a trend that has made America great. I doubt if you celebrate traditional Celtic festivals, but you certainly have ancestors who were Celts. My point is, your culture is American, a combination of all of the cultures of those who come here. The same will be true for your children and grandchildren. I don't much care if minorities outnumber whites. That seems to be what Pat worries about. I guess Republicans need to expand their base. They can keep me by voting for freedom first.

Also, I don't find Pat to be a racist. I'm not accusing him of being one. However, he makes it easy for the media to do so. He makes himself and anyone who has similar views look bad. His book is a waste of time. It reminds me of those who were screaming about the sky falling in the 70s (global cooling), and the global warming shouters of the 90s. America is great, and it's not going to stop being great just because the melting pot continues. We need it to continue.
